Saw this just now.. I made some phone calls and it was who I thought it was. Such a shame. Two young kids, and I can't even imagine what Johnny is going through. Shakes me up because I saw her less than a week before this happened.

Jonny and Heather are great people. Them boys are the kind of kids you won't to be around respectful nice and all around tough little boys. Never got to rough or to tired for them two. Always answered any question I asked them with yes sir. They were raised right I have seen heather break a switch out of a tree and bust there but right in the middle of the woods. This was a great and wonderful family and I considered all of them friends . With that said as my gut is turning all they need right now is prayers and simpathy. All that matters now is the two good little boys and a great daddy need all the love and help they can get so keep them in mind!

D@#m. That's terrible.

Dammit.......

Just yesterday I was sitting with my 4 year old (who will be 5 by opening day of rifle season) talking about the seriousness involved with guns and hunting. She is so excited about this upcoming deer season....I just....can't imagine....

My heart truly goes out to that family. I do not know them. I don't have to; I understand their love of the outdoors and their indescribable need to show their little children the world they love: the outdoors....

Tragedy's just happen. They are just....tragic. They have no rhyme or reason. There is no sense to be made of any of it. They just.... I don't know...

Things like this shouldn't happen. Things like this just..... I don't have the words.

For what they are worth coming from me, they have my prayers.....

And for those of you that do know them, if they need ANYTHING...just let us know. Please.

Can't, and don't want to imagine what this is like. My prayers are being sent for this family. The poor child will have to live with this the rest of his life.

I hope its not true but I was told yesterday the sheriff was talking about charging the dad with neglect.

Two roads diverged in the woods and I took the one with deep ruts, hills and mud.It may be bumpy but WHAT A RIDE!

Depends on the facts I guess. If the 5 year old just picked it up or something then I don't see how they could charge him.

If they were letting a 5 year old carry it on purpose then maybe so.

At the end of the news article is info for a memorial fund that has been set up on behalf of the family. If you feel compelled to give, it would be appreciated. If all you can give is prayers, that too is deeply appreciated. This is such a tragic loss. I couldn't imagine the pain and suffering that this family is going through and will continue to endure. Johnny was one of my closest childhood friends and so many have been touched by his family in a positive way. This is truly a horrible tragedy.
My prayers are with the Brandon family.
