It won't stay there for long without being tied in. Google how to tie in peep on youtube and use some dental floss if you don't have any serving.

It's very dangerous to shoot a bow without the peep tied in. I've heard of a few people that have received serious eye injuries because the peep flew out and ricocheted off the riser back into the shooter's eye. I use a different method to tie mine in, but here's one of the more common methods: http://fletcherarchery.com/howto_servepeep.pdf
