What are the salesman like there? Do they work on commission or by the hour?

I've been to the one in Huntsville several times. Bought a couple guitars, They never really even came up and bothered me. I'm assuming they were hourly because they wasn't hounding me to buy anything. They had a huge selection at the time I was there. I enjoy the room with the acoustics the most.
The fool tells me his reasons; the wise man persuades me with my own.

I don't think they work for commission. They sure don't try to sell. They try to have musicians that are familiar with the instruments in their departments

Have you been by Flattops and Fiddles on the square in Troy? Don Brown is an old friend, give him a try. I know Don too, we worked in the same dept before he retired. He just doesnt have the kind of guitar my daughter wants.

A guitar needs to be test driven before its purchased, anyone who wouldnt let you try it out before purchase doesnt need to be in the guitar business.

We've bought a couple from the store in HuntsVegas. No pressure at all. We were in there this morning and they had a ton to select from.
Also went to the Fret Shop - really nice folks there. Between the two I'd be tempted to go with the local folks at the Fret Shop.

Stay out of the place in jasper mall. They have signs hung up every where not to play any instruments. And dont touch. And they mean it asked if I could see one and the salesman said dude read the sign. I walked out and won't be back. What made it even worse it was a Yamaha my grandparents sold out of their store in the 70's.

If they wont let my daughter test drive a guitar then they will not be in business for long.

we had a good experience at Guitar Center in Montgomery today. No pressure sales, got a good deal on a better than average starter guitar and amp for my daughter. The sales guys also did not oggle my daughter which was good.
