So I called the man that owns the land behind my subdivision and asked if it was ok to clear a few feet into the woods beside my house to make it look a little better. He says sure. I ask if I can throw out some corn to see if I can get some deer coming up and his reply was, "sure, they've been eating my garden up. If you've got a bow you can take a few out if you want". Why I do have a bow and I will do my part so that your garden is not ravaged by these pesky animals.
So I put a feeder and my camera out and low and behold the deer have arrived.

Take your kids hunting instead of hunting your kids.

I'd rather be LOST in the woods than FOUND in the city.

Drive a hybrid, I need your gas.

Your mind is your primary weapon. Never let it get rusty.

Oh yea, I will be making a trip over there to hook him up. Guy is super nice. Since I work so much I can slip out beside the house and let the wind out of one of these deer without having to drive to the camp 2 1/2 hrs away.. I'll be posting pics when I pull my camera in a few day...

Land that people will allow you to hunt for free is like finding a 100 dollar bill in the floor at the dollar tree.

So I got home from work yesterday and took the wife and kids for a short walk and when I returned home there were 3 deer at the feeder eating it up. They looked at us for a moment and kept on eating. Gotta be a big daddy around tending the herd.

Some things I've learned about urban hunting. Movement is general better in the morning. Less people activity outside. Most likely your gonna have one family group of does coming to your feeder if you want to see a buck don't kill them. If you kill one thy usually move on. Make sure they are facing back towards the woods and not towards the houses when you shoot. You don't want to have to explain to some non hunter why there is a dead deer in their yard( this is the best way to loose permission) so choose your shots wisely. Also make sure there aren't any other people that have permission to hunt back there. So some one won't walk up on you or visa versa

A dying bleating nanny in the neighbors pansy bed while the neighbor is hosting the garden club bridge game would go over like a turd in the punch bowl.

No horns yet but they've got to be close by.
