Fixing to buy a new honda rancher and my question is can lakehill motors in Ms be beat on price by any other dealers around. I want a 4 wheel drive manual shift. Figured a bunch of y'all on here would know. Thanks.

Your real savings from out of state is the taxes.

The state sent me a tax bill a few months after I bought one several years ago.

Bankhead I don't know where you are in Alabama (from your name I would assume the northern half of the state), but Halls motorsports down here in Mobile and Spanish Fort (Google them) usually have some leftover models on their website with good prices on them.

I like a good deal as well as the next guy, but I would at LEAST give a couple local dealers the chance to match that price.

The tax thing is a toss up. I have heard of LOTS of people getting those tax bills from the state. Personally I wouldn't want anything to put me on their radar.

This topic comes up here frequently.

I don't know about now but back in 2005 when I purchased my Honda Rubicon, Southern Honda, in Chattanooga beat Lakehill by a little more than $800.00 on the price.

I purchased it there and I'd buy there again if the pricing was better.

Try Honda of laurel MS. Bought the exact one you are wanting with winch brush guard and cv protectors from there about 3 months ago. At that time they beat everyone's price. Including lake hill. But you will get the tax papers in the mail a month or so after the purchase. Still comes out much cheaper though.

Screw Southern Honda. I called them one time to see if they had a CR250, they said yes and we will hold it for you. I left the house right after I called them. When I got their they had already sold it. Called lake hill, went straight their and walked in and my name was on a tag on the handle bars. Their is only 100 dollars difference between the two and better people at lakehill. Ive bought 3 from them.

Southern Honda will usually smoke anybody's prices by a wide margin. I have been there three times to purchase 4 wheelers. My B in L, a friend of mine, and one for me. We all had smooth dealings with them and no trouble at all. The guy who handled my deal went out of his way to get me all set up.

It worth your drive to Chattanooga. Look at thier website. It has the real price, not just Msrp.

Just hope you don't have to use the service department for anything

Only thing I've found that's odd or I'd say most dealerships probably do this is they have a dock fee that's $175 if you finance it through Honda at Lakehill. I'm not doing that though because the dock fee is the paper work and the charge to send in your finance transaction. I seen 2 get sold while I was looking yesterday and that $175 is made very fast and that's not much money at all but if you sell as many units as they do in a 3-6 month term that ads up huge.

I have checked local and some distances away from me and only place that can match them is Chattanooga tn. I feel like the salesman there can beat the price but he's pretty locked in and has been since our last few conversations.

Lakehills prices are carved in hard stone no matter if you take cash money or finance it through whoever you choose. If a atv of any kind is priced at 5550 or 6999 your gonna pay the exact price to the T.

I will say Franklin at Lakehill is a very nice guy and 1 of the best salesman I've ever dealt with. He's been awesome on a foreman that had a recall a few months back and he had every step fixed up for me on that process when I arrived with it.

I've rambled enough I guess I just want to get a good deal and feel good afterwards about my purchase. I will do some more calling around cause Cuz-pat I will drive to save $800 in a heartbeat.

I bought from Lakehill and everything about the experience was positive. Decide exactly what you want, call Lakehill and Southern and see who has the best price and if the price difference is worth the extra drive. Local folks won't even be close to Lakehill and Southern.

Send MTeague a PM. I hear he has some hot deals on 4 wheelers from time to time.

I recommend anywhere other than KC's Powersports in Huntsville.

Bought mine from Southern Honda. Contacted Lake Hill and my local Honda Dealer. Southern Honda beat the other two prices hands down. negotiated deal over phone told Southern I had business in Chattanooga in two days and would pick it up then. Arrived as scheduled, singed papers and was gone in 30 minutes. I did give my local honda dealer a chance at it but it could not get with $ 900 and asked me if I was going to drive 200 miles for $900. I laughed all the way to Chattanooga.
