Did you get to look at the place on Friday? Pm me your phone number. I'm interested if it was strict big buck management. Should have a December rut in that area as well. The land manager has not returned my phone call. I'm trying to set up an appointment to look at the property. To everyone that has PM'd me and posted on here with interest this deal is a slim possibility to happen. The property is under a bid system and once I bid on the place and win I'm on the hook for over 9K. It will be hard for me to do that even though I have the money. My wife is laid back as they come but I'd be in the dog house if I could not recover that amount of money in a timely manner. My issue is I know everyone that joins would like to see the property before paying. I would have it no other way!! I am dealing with a short time frame here and the land manager isn't being very helpful either. I'm still working it as I hope it doesn't lease before the dead line and I will have more time.

I am dealing with a short time frame here and the land manager isn't being very helpful either. Brother, you better get used to that. He was HORRIBLE to lease from. Wouldn't return calls/emails. No help at all. I don't normally bash people publicly, but this guy was the worst.

If this is Westervelt property, make me the 3rd to tell you, I would never deal with "BB" again personally. All he shows interest in is making sure your check shows up on time. The rest doesn't matter unless it means $ for them, which I understand to a point, but I feel like their customer service sucks majorly. John he still hasn't called me back since I sent him an email and left him a VM. I'm done with this cat. I'm not going to beg anyone in this area to lease land.

He doesn't control any land that's good enough for me to deal with him. Although, I can't believe he won't contact you about leasing property. There must be someone that's put money in their hands for it already. Normally, it starts after money has exchanged hands. Then he couldn't care less if he talks to you again until next May. He just has a real crappy way of dealing with people. Even after you get in touch with him.

I've hunted that westervelt property that's down 73 a few times. Saw deer each time I hunted and passed a nice buck. First deer I saw that morning and was hunting as a guest. Didn't want to upset the members. . I do know they killed several decent bucks each year. Used to be 1800 acres and have a chunk of hardwoods in the back. Looks like they have cut that out of the tract. Even with that said, it might be worth taking a look at. Squeaky, I've also walked that tract your looking at with another member here. It was a deer desert in my opinion. I know there are some good genetics through there but it wasn't something I was willing to put money into at the time. Things might have changed since then, as that was 4-5 years ago. The two tracts can't be more than 5 miles apart, if that. We ended up leasing another tract from them and that's when the breakdown in communication began.

Yup. I hate to down a guy on the internet, but want my experience (along with several others I know) to be known before they pay top dollar for something he runs. His communication, or lack thereof, and arrogance when you do get in touch with him are uncalled for. That's all I will say about it. A few years ago me and some friends I worked with were looking for a lease. I contacted Bill and he told me we couldn't afford anything he had available. I told him we all had our money together we just needed a lease and he said (people will tell you anything until the money is due). What's bad we ended up leasing some land a couple weeks later that was more than the Westerfelt land he had.

Y'all should talk with some higher-ups in Westervelt. I know several of them, some of which hunt, and they'd be interested to know about this Bill fellow. They already know him and they don't care.

He was over some property in Greene co. a couple years ago that we paid $20+ an acre on. They had us shoot 40 does a year off of 2000 acres. By the 3 and 4th year you couldn't find a deer besides 2 yr. old bucks, and when the rut got going you did good to see anything. Westervelt ended up taking the property, leasing it to 3 high rollers from Florida. 3 guys from Westervelt were allowed to hunt it also. A couple years ago I spoke with one of their buddies and they had killed 3 or 4 does with their bows and some whopper bucks off of it. I say all that to say, they'll never get another dime from me. Bill or Westervelt.
