The guy not only gets himself killed but he leaves that poor kid with a nightmare she'll spend the rest of her life trying to get rid of. That's messed up.

I believe my daughter was 12 or 13 when I let her shoot a full auto rifle at the range.
She didn't kill anyone. Said it was fun. We had an enjoyable afternoon with friends shooting targets.
