Bought a Carter Too Simple. I think I'm hooked. Anyone shoot these. And negatives you've found? I might have to drop the tension a bit but everything else feels pretty good.

Never trusted one to hunt with. I used to be able to shoot the hell out of one. I won a bunch of tournaments shooting the TRU Ball Chappy Boss back about 10 years ago. Once I learned to shoot a hinge back tension release, I haven't shot a thumb trigger worth a damn.

I've used a Carters Big Kid release for hunting and 3D for about 17 years.

I don't get how a 200$ release can be any better than a scott 50 to 75 $ release.

I don't get how a 200$ release can be any better than a scott 50 to 75 $ release. Just seems so wrong not to use your trigger finger if your huntin'. You can spend more $ on a hunting release than a Scott, but why. Kinda like a Kwikee Quiver , been around for ever and will get the job done for less $. Love my Scott Sabertooth.

I guess the reason I spent all the money on it is because I work hard for what I have and have been blessed enough to afford a $200 release. That's beside the point. I am shooting pretty well. I assume it's much like shooting a gun. Do you want minute of angle or minute of deer.

Every since I started using the tru ball short & sweet that's all I use..I tried a tru ball thumb release during a ibo shoot in p.cola & it's wasn't pretty. I think I missed 2 targets..I had the tendency too wanna make it go off, so it was best for me to just leave it alone..

James that was my problem with a trigger mainly past 40 yards. I have adjusted tension down and adjusted the travel to almost none. Now I can anchor and tighten my back up while making a fist and it surprises me when it goes off.

I've been shooting a pro-diamond for about 4 or 5 years now. I wonder why people don't shoot thumb releases. I like it WAY better than any other release that I've ever had.

Now I can anchor and tighten my back up while making a fist and it surprises me when it goes off. One of my advantages with the trigger is my disadvantage lol..About 12 years ago I nearly cut my finger completely off..The end of my finger doesn't work & it's lost some sensitivity..So it allows me to squeeze a trigger release..I liked the thumb release but I kept wanting to punch it..Its merely a head thing!
