I've got the Capitol One Card now that gives 1.5% cash back with no annual fee. Any other cards I should look at? I don't carry a balance so the interest rate isn't important.

If you dont ever carry a balance then why do you need to give any money to a credit card company? Credit is just money cocaine.

I have had an amazon card for 2 years and have not given them one red cent. They have given me 250 to date in rewards.

Most sales people do this to keep from tying up personal funds. I spend several grand a month traveling, entertaining, etc. everything goes on the card one week and gets paid off the next via expense check.

I agree with you that plastic is dangerous. But I use the credit card for gas, groceries, and food. Just a convenience instead of taking $1,000 out of the ATM every month.

Why do you suggest that it will soon fail? My wife did the same thing in her sales job...that company isn't failing anytime soon.

Discover and Chase is what I have. Both give 5% cash back on gas two quarters a year and food one quarter a year.

Good point. All I can say is its just a convenience. If it wasn't a credit card, it would be a debit card. I'm just not going to walk inside to pay everytime I get gas, maybe I should.

What if you get robbed....lose your wallet...misplace it and the cash comes up missing.... You can't cancel cash with a phone a call...or get reimbursed....just saying....this is the reason I use cards....

Skinny your not even close to being right on this particular topic. The company I work for is the global leader in the industry. A multi billion dollar company at that. I cover, from a technical standpoint, everything in the Western Hemisphere. A weeks worth of hotel, airfare, and dinners can easily cost $3k. I don't want to tie up that much of my own money when I can get an expense check the following week. I manage $10m+ in business. $70-80k a year in expenses is a drop in the bucket and all part of the cost of doing business.

I don't do debt cards because the stores can put a hold on the card for twice the amount of purchase.

Exactly, plus they don't offer the theft protection a credit card does either.
