Genital mutilations in the Middle East and Africa have gone on for centuries. It's been well documented, liberals and conservatives have been against this for many years and the MSM has reported on this in the past elsewhere (notably from African countries).
But genital mutilation doesn't get as many website clicks as cute kittens and happy news lists, so it's not at the forefront. It's also a cultural thing and worldwide through history, there's been a hands-off "that's their deal, not ours" approach to things unless it begins affecting U.S. interests. Unfortunate, but true.

She had been done this way and was trying to bring awareness. The story and her just kind of faded away. You know we should be very tolerant of other religions and customs no matter what pain or harm they bring to other human beings.(sarcasm off) sickening for sure, but has been going on for along time

Extermination is the only answer. The day will come when Americans have to go mosque to mosque and do their duty.
I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.
