About 10 years ago, i shot at a nice buck about 200 yards away. I hit a limb and missed the deer. He ran up a ridge and stopped. At this point he was a lot closer, probably 100 yards. All i could see was his back 1/3. I did not take the shot. This was in mountainous terrain, and i really didn't want him to top that ridge, cause it was a hell hole on the other side. Hard to say what i would do, i'd like to say, i wouldn't take the shot, but i'd have to see the deer. The easiest thing in the world to do, is to say what you would do in a certain situation. Most of the times, we dont know what we would do.

No way in hell would I take that shot. I have a grunt call and know how to use it. I had a buck one time walk in behind a huge beech tree right before dark. I didn't see just how big he was till right before he stepped in behind it. I waited for him to step out from behind it for 10 minutes. When I got down I walked over there to where he was. It was like he walked in behind that tree and disappeared. He was a good buck. I think he made a 90 degree turn when he walked in behind it and walked down the banks of the creek.

I had a similar scenario happen two years ago, I didn't shoot. I believe I'll see him again.

Depends if you are a hunter or a killer if you take the shot or not ....
We will burn that bridge when we get there

I had this happen to me. I didn't take the shot and I still regret it.
