For bow season I just use thin waterproof gloves, gun season I've found that my hands stay warmer by holding hot hands and just putting my hands Inside my coveralls close to my body.

I wear regular 4" cuff cotton gloves (without the grippy crap on them) all season. If it gets cold enough, I'll use a hand warmer muffs.

my son and I both use the hand warmer mitts that strap around your body like a belt and have the pouch in front to put your hands in. We put a hot hands in the pouch when it is terribly cold and it will keep your hands toasty warm for hours. We both use just a pair of "cheap cotton gloves" when walking in or out. It works well for us. Hope this helps!

If it's real cold I'll use some wool socks that I've got finger holes cut in also..It helps keep your wrist area warm..

Columbia makes some battery powered, heated gloves. I bought my son and I a pair to wear during a hunt in the mid-west. They work wonderfully, although as my son found out, if you run them on "High" the battery will only last about three hours as opposed to five or six hours on low. Well worth the money but the rechargeable battery is a PITA to get out for recharging.
"Control" is just an illusion.

I don't wear gloves at all while hunting ..... I hate jewelry or clothing on my hands...I just use several of the hot hands inside one of the muff type hand warmers that you wear around your waist. Never had a problem with cold hands doing this.

Wool army gloves, with the trigger finger cut out of course. If it's really cold, army gloves inside a muff with hot hands. Best system I've tried.

As others said, muff with hand warmers most of the time. When it's really cold, thin gloves inside the muff.
