Need opinions on these. I've pretty much narrowed it down to the Stihl HT101 or the Echo PPT-266. I know there's die hard Stihl folks and they make great chainsaws. That being said, I've heard mixed reviews about the power saws. So I'm interested to know of your experiences with these, or any other brand as well.

Thanks.

I run a HL 100 with 135* tilting head at work. Its a great unit but prepare to be sore in new places. It will work your azz off. So much so we use the regular stihl hedge trimmers and a step ladder most of the time.

Guess I should have said gas pole saw, not the pruners. But same difference in terms of working your arse off! Don't plan on having it in my hand all day long.

I have the Poulan Pro, and as good a saw as it is, I can just imagine what a Stihl or an Echo is like! Solid, aggressive cutting saw.

I have a Ryobi that works great. Just remember to keep the chain tight.

That thing will work your butt off if you have it fully extended but beats the heck out of a manual pole saw.

I have a redmax, it's short, about 7 feet or so. I like it but would rather have a longer one. It was free though. I found it on the side of the highway one night about ten years ago. Put a new bar on it and it worked fine.

Picked up a used Stihl HT101 today off of the PFF forum. Already put her to good use and going to get my money's worth out of it this weekend at the camp. Now anyone want to come to South GA and run this sucker for me this weekend, all the beer you can drink (after you're done operating this thing of course).

I bought a new Stihl HT 131 telescoping pole saw about a month ago. It'll cut some limbs for sure.

I love it.

Mine doesn't have the telescopic pole but I can reach pretty dang high on 6' or 8' step ladder. It's the cats meow for cleaning road branches.

Not too impressed with the string trimmer head, but the chainsaw is solid. Chain usually stays pretty tight, isn't hard to tighten when it does stretch, cuts well, stays pretty sharp.

Attachments lock up easily and stay secure, come apart easily when you want them to.

As I said, I don't like the trimmer head, but I'll probably replace that with a something else in the near future.
