I've got a Ripcord red, Trophy Ridge Drop Zone, or a old faithful whisker biscuit. Thinking about going with the whisker biscuit for simplicity & no moving parts, what do u say?

I went to my first drop away rest last season. I went with the QAD HDX. I like it.

Has the ripcord ever failed? I guess any fall away could fail. But have used ripcord and QAD and never has a issue with either.

I just mounted the Ripcord, I've never had it on my bow. The Whisker Biscuit was for carbons, not aluminum. Gonna give this Ripcord a try in the morning.RH

If the Ripcord will lock in the upright position, I'd shoot it.

It will lock in the upright position, but it doesn't stay up if u have to let down. That's a bummer.

Yep. That's the only reason I went back to QAD.

For stalking purposes, locking in the upright position will be nice. It would be better if it stayed locked in the upright position, but not a deal breaker. The QAD HDX does stay locked upright, if you want one that does.

If you are getting good , true arrow flight out of the biscuit, that would be my choice.

The ripcord is shooting great with the 2213's, man these aluminums seem super slow compared to carbon. Man is this Mathews quiet though? I served 2 spider legs on the string really tight, they will never hear this bow go off. Now I have to try some big broad heads, my arrows have blazer shrink fletch on them. I'm working on fetching some arrows now with 4" vanes, they should shoot better with the big heads.

I don't understand all the changes just for elk!? What's wrong with using your same whitetail setup? Just curious

My whitetail setup was carbons arrows, they are way too light for Elk hunting. I switched to aluminum arrows for elk, they won't work with my whisker biscuit. It's a carbon arrow model with the small dia hole for carbon arrows.

How fast are you shooting your carbons and what length?

29" haven't chrono'd them, but the carbons hitting 300 I'm pretty sure. I bet these aluminums maybe 260 fps

With a 352 grain arrow shooting 300 fps your KE would be above 70. That is more than enough KE for elk. Check your bow speed to make sure.
