Atlanta is cool if you know where to go, what to enjoy and the areas to avoid. Same as any other city. Has pluses and minuses.

Lived there for a year quite a while back. Don't imagine its improved. Sherman needs to come back, catch the wind right and fire that mother up again. My great great grandfather lost a leg there fighting the yankess in '64. he was with the Fourth Alabama Inf. Regiment. That was a bad trade.

We ate at the Varsity for lunch. It was the most greasy french fries I have ever seen, the chili is ground so fine on a hot dog you could suck it thru a straw and again a combo cost $10.

The cleaning lady came by my room, I told her we were good but needed some clean towels and I asked where to put my dirty ones. Needless to say there was a communication barrier there. She never understood a word I said. I just walked to her cart and got what I needed and she shook her head ok., then I put my dirty ones in a bag on her cart.

I think the Varsity sucks...that is all.

Assholes across the Southeast think The Varsity's greasy poop-chute torpedo discharges suck, too. Don't know if I've ever had food run through me faster after leaving an establishment.

But them hotdogs wuz good.

I work down in Miami at times, and the Keys.... it is a different world as compared to Atlanta or Orlando. A lot of Spanish and Hasians. You will do better if you can speak a little Spanish. They don't understand Redneck talk. Had some good eats though. Further down in Keys there are a lot of Chickens that are like dogs. You see the chickens all over the place....gas stations, sidewalks, etc.

Oh...I don't like Atlanta either ! If you want a good hotdog, go up to Chicago and try a Chicago Dog !

As someone else stated, any large city has its pluses and minuses. I don't mind Atlanta at all. Its like anywhere else you have to know where to go and what to avoid. Miami vs. Atlanta? I'll take Miami any day. The scenery is prettier the weather is nicer and the fishing is better. But in either city, if you get off the interstate in the wrong part of town your asking for major trouble.

Atlanta is the queer capital of the south.

Only thing I like about Atlanta is the road that leads west out of there. My last trip there included 3 glorious days in College Park.
