Got number 3 this morning, I will try to get the pics and details up later. I have to catch a nap before work. Felt good after a miss a few days ago. That little 20 O/U put it on him. 22 lbs 9 7/8 inch beard 1 1/16 spurs Long read and fair warning, im not the best at telling a story. Its a little cut up, I gotta go to work. I think you will get it. Woke up about 600 am this morning in a rush to get to the turkey woods. I didn't really want to get to far from the house cause of work. I met two friends in bankhead that had just gotten off of work. We walked around for about two hours and havent heard a peep so we decided to go to spot where a few birds had been spotted during deer season. So we just start walking and calling. About 930 after we had walked probably a mile or so down a old rd, I suggest we should sit and listen, plus I was a little tired of just steadily walking. We sit down not two minutes and hear one gobble a long ways off. We slowly ease down toward the bird that was across a creek. We had to circle around cause it was so open in the woods and had got on the same hill as him. So we sit down all spread out on the hill side and the bird answers everything thrown at him but will not budge from his spot on the hill. So I made a executive decision and decide to walk away calling. I get 50 or so yards away walking and he cant stand it, gobbling at almost every breathe. I decide to ease over about 40 more yards and just sit and wait for the slaughter to start. Well a little time goes by and I hear my buddy start calling, cause I decided he was a dead bird walking and it was just a matter of minutes before I hear him flopping I decided not to call. My buddy cutts loose on a few yelps and that bird thundered loose and was right by me. So I sat tight and let him do the callling as I watched he gobble and go into strutt. Few more minutes went by and he walked out right to me. I lit his head up with that little 20g o/u and a load of tss. It was over.

Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.

Good job B.
The bird you killed this morning and the one I killed Sat were almost identical in size. Glad to see your new 20ga is a killer. I know you are proud of that.

Congrats again Brandon. I can't wait to hit the road and kill some birds.

Congrats pal. Public land birds always taste better. Two of my most prized hunts come from those mountains.
Do you want to hear him gobble, or do you want to kill him.
