Did you have any early warning signs such as tranny noise, shifting problems or any other signs?
Just wondering what I/we should be on the lookout for.

Also, did you have a tranny cooler or not?
Wondering if these help with the mentioned temp issues.

No warning. Started slipping in second gear and got me home. Wouldn't pull after that. Truck had a tow package but no trans cooler.

Many of them down shift very hard from 2nd to 1st. Most begin as a shudder.

The GM trannys typically identify as a troublesome gear switching device. Stop calling them offensive names.

Mine wouldn’t shift in reverse when I would crank it up. I had to turn the truck off and recrank and then it would shift into reverse.

Mine always shifted like crap even brand new but got worse over time. Would even chirp the tires it would downshift so hard slowing down.

No warning. Just felt like all hell was coming apart. And while I’m at it, how can I tell the transmission temp? I’ve searched through my settings and can’t find anything.

My 17’ has had shifting issues since June 21 it’s bad at times will stall for a few seconds before it kicks in. Took it to several places all told me it would have to be replaced so I been driving it til it breaks. I’ve thought about having the temp issue addressed but it does right when I crank it up as well so idk.

In my 2021 2500 HD, the trans temp automatically comes on when you shift to trailer mode. There may be a way to program it on the displayed items.
