I’ve had deer play in the lux river here at the house. Run up and down splashing like kids. I planted turnips one year and had a doe pawing turnips out of the frozen ground. Seen them lay still while dogs went all around them and people were talking right next to them. Two does stood on their hind legs and fought for several minutes. Neither wanted to give up.
Everything woke turns to shucks

I WAS hunting on a hillside sitting ( with a creek runng below it) with the sun on me. I dosed off for a few minutes, and got awaken by a splashing sound. Damn doe jumped off the other side of the hill into the creek and proceeded to swim like hell!
Ive seen deer swimming on mitchell and alabama river before.
Georgia Football..Acts like Bama but has a trophy case like South Carolina.

Was putting out food with an ATV and had a pile of bags by my truck. Pulled up and a young deer was in one of the bags trying to get the last few pellets. When it heard me pull up, it started running like a bat out of hell with its back legs and fronts still in the bag, went about fifty feet the tripped up.I ran over, emptied the sack and the little critter ran off.

Had two good uns fighting in a thicket , not sparring , a full blow death match. I couldn't get a shot on either , just too thick. Well all the ruckus called up another big un I could get a shot at. I had a small buck try every way he could to breed a dead doe I'd shot .

I was riding around our place on the 4 wheeler right before bow season this year and saw a pretty nice buck standing in the woods probably 60yds from me. I knew if I stopped he'd take off so I kept easing along real slow and watched him. He eased down and laid flat out on the ground with his head/neck out straight so his antlers weren't sticking up. Just straight up hid from me till I passed on by.
I had something very similar happen to me, but it was a doe. She was less than 20 yards off the fire lane I was on. She did not lay completely flat but folded her front legs as if to lay down but kept her ass end still up in the air like she was ducking behind a tree to keep from being seen.

I had the same thing happen. 5 minutes after I had shot the doe a spike came up and spent probably 15-20 minutes trying every way possible to mount her. He would paw at her several times then pace back and forth around her rear half. Paw and kick dirt around and stand over her while lowering his back end. I'll bet he circled her 25 times but spent more time around her back end. When it started getting dark I climbed down from the ladder stand I was in and as my feet hit the ground and I spun around he was still 30 yards away standing over her and not paying me any nevermind. He finally hopped over to the edge of the field when I got within about 15 yards then stood and watched until I was standing over her myself. I was starting to wonder if he wanted to fight my 25.06. He finally moved on and It almost looked like someone had ran a garden tiller around her where he had pawed the ground so much.

Me and a buddy of mine got permission to bowhunt this elderly lady's land back in the 90s as long as we cut and stacked her some firewood. I was in the stand one afternoon and several does and fawns came running through from the neighboring property. They all jumped the barbwire fence to my left but one of the fawns didn't quite make it over and got hung up in the fencing. The other deer just stopped and looked at the fawn thrashing around and then started bleating. I got down and walked over to the fawn and threw my jacket over it to keep it from beating me to death with his hooves. Got him untangled from the barbwire and he stood up, looked over at the does, then looked at me like "which way should I go?" One of the does eased over to within 5' of where I was and the fawn walked over to her. They turned and started walking off, with an occasional glance back to make sure I wasn't any threat to them I guess. GREAT STORY!!!!

When I was a youngster, I was dropped off in a creek bottom before the dogs were turned loose. I found the best funnel I could and leaned up against a tree. I heard the dogs coming and here comes a little buck. He got to the edge of the creek, ran up the creek about 50 yards and down the creek another 40 or so, then jumped the creek and layed down in a clump of gall berries. It took the dogs a while to figure out where the deer was and I don't think they would have if the scent of the deer wasn't blowing in their direction.
A few years ago I shot a buck. Tracked him for 100 yards and shot him again. Come to find out later the gun was way off. Still don't know how that happened within a few short days, but I eventually lost the blood in a pine plantation. Where I was at, the easiest way to get back to the truck was through a different food plot and down this road. The deer was headed in the direction of that road anyway so I figured I'd look for blood as I walked down it. As I'm walking, I meet up with a friend and he said something about where he thought that deer was. As he said that I turned around and looked down a pine row. The deer was laying flat on his belly. Head down, waiting on us to walk by. He was only 20 yards. 3rd shot put him down for good. We call that the swiss cheese deer. With that third shot, the bolt handle fell out of the gun.

Several years ago, I was in a club in Bibb County outside of Green Pond. In a ground level shooting house and a spike came walking up. Came right up to the window. My rifle barrel was sticking out of the window a few inches. Stupid spike started licking the barrel. I got tickled and laughed...dumb deer stuck it's nose in window wanting to play. Eventually went running and leaping and spinning away having a great time.
