I've had my BR-700 going on 3 years now. So far so good but I run nothing but 100% gas in it. That being said it won't crank this evening when I get home to blow leaves...

True story here no lie. One early Sat morning I pulled in to a Auto supply store to get oil or something and there was a fellow employee from the plant standing outside with his son’s truck with the hood up. He was giving this young store clerk fits about an issue with the truck when I walked up. I asked him what’s going on and he proceeds to tell me that his son needs a new battery and after he installed it ( at the store ) he now has NOTHING! No lights, no radio , won’t turn over, NOTHING!! He’s about to blow a gasket on this kid about selling him a defective battery.Well the young man has the battery tester outside fixing to hook it up and check it out when I hear him telling us , you might not want to see this and please step back. The whole time my buddy is throwing a fit. Well I look past my buddy at the kid and he is smiling BIGTIME. I now see he has taken the ground cable off and has removed the black plastic cap from the battery post and is hooking it back up. Now he says , Sir could you try it again? Cranked up like new. I never let that man forget it as long as we worked together. What a Hoot!

I love my pre mix and 4 stroke tools but I have to say I have bought into the 20v xr stuff from Dewalt. The yards tools that only get used once in awhile I have wnet to the cordless dewalt models. As everytime I want to use them the gas lines needs replacing cause the fuel to hardened them and they go to leaking or sucking air into the fuel line, or it the damn primer bulb done dried out and falls to peices. Plus I got a yard guy doing most of the work now, he is a highschool friend doing it on the side, so I let him cut mine too.

I do not blow leaves, or rake them. Mulching is the only way to go. I will blow them off a side walk or driveway to mulch them, but that's it.

Fast forward to this weekend and there's probably twice the amount of leaves out there, but we were going to mulch the ones in the yard and just clear the driveway, walking areas, etc... So I thought I would give the blower one more try. I primed it, chole on and checked the kill switch, and lo and behold I had previously switched it to "Stop" instead of what I thought read "Start." So I could have pulled on that muther until my arm fell of two weeks ago. Gave it one pull and she fired rith up.

I have a Husky blower as well I did that several times, now as soon as I turn it off I push thumb selector back to on.

FYI another thing I have to do to it every spring is remove the screen from the muffler and clean it with a wire brush. It will get clogged up and not let it run. Not sure why there is a screen there but I assume it is some type of spark arrestor.

I love my country, but don't trust my government.

I think I did the same thing with a 4wheeler the other day. Tried and tried to get it to start. I text snuffy and told him my wheeler was messed up hope he didn’t kill a big one and need help. I finally fixed it when I turned my secret gas valve on…3 DAYS OF WORKING ON IT!

I did the same thing with a pole saw yesterday. I was just about to wrap it around a tree when I realized.

That's exactly what we do. Blow off the driveway and parking areas and mulch the yard. However that's still a lot of leaves up here on the mountain.

Go back and read JohnG’s thread about his store from a few weeks ago and it will make you feel better.

I've done this with our leaf blower, cussin' and yankin' on the cord until I almost wanted to slam it to the ground. Noticed the shutoff switch in the off position. Flick, crank, fired up. Yep, I'm a dumbass.
