I thought I would pass this along to anyone looking at this particular stand https://www.summitstands.com/viper-level-pro-sd-mo-elements-terra-gila
(Viper Level Pro)
I bought one yesterday only to find out after it shipped that there is a recall. I contacted Summit this morning and they can't/won't tell me what the issue is until they get some sort of report.
He did say that it looks like they will be issuing refunds so it must be a big issue.

Purchased one about 5 or 6 years ago and i had to move the foot straps back, not sure how they expected someone to climb (safely for that matter) with them that far forward smh.

How many people am i willing to sacrifice for freedom?
Everyone. All of them...

Do not regret growing older, it's a privilege denied to many!

They irritate me to be honest. You compare an older summit to a newer one, especially a Viper, and the new one is alot smaller. One would assume if you have a Viper already, and it fit you well, and your order a new one, that you would expect it to be the same. Oh no! I can't even get my knees above the bar in the front with the new one, but the old viper, no problem.

I did pick up an older open shot for $50 bucks last weekend at a yard sale. It's really light.

I have never cared for Summit stands but I thought I would give this one a try because of the adjustability after you're in the tree. I have a buckshot that does this but weighs a ton. It is also strange to me that they would post on their Facebook page about the recall but there is nothing on the website that I can find.
