I started killing hogs in Tennessee in the late 70’s. When I first moved to Alabama I couldn’t find anyone that knew anything about hog hunting and especially with dogs until I got to know a few folks around Coffeville.

I hog hunted Tennessee, Texas, Mississippi, Georgia, Louisiana, North Carolina, Virginia, Kentucky, Arkansas and Oklahoma in the 80’s successfully. By the 90’s you could add Hawaii, South Carolina, New York, California, Missouri and several places In Europe.

Hogs are dang near everywhere for many reasons but most recently numbers have exploded due “stocking” areas for off season hunting choices

First armadillo I ever saw was at Camp Shelby Mississippi in about 1987. I first saw it and thought “good lord, what kinda place have I wound up in when opossums are wearing body armor”

I think stocking has a lot to do with it, especially in Texas. How is their population increasing when people are using explosives and machine gunning them from helicopters? I'm guessing the people who offer helicopter hunts make a lot of money from it.

We used to hunt between Thomasville and Coffeville in the 70s and early 90s. Had plenty of hogs. Was plenty of fun on dog drives!

People say that but I don’t believe it. They stay along bottomlands anywhere I’ve hunted. Upland piney woods/red clay is not where they’ll be found.

I'll say it again on here that I've said numerous times.

Life is a journey. Make sure and bring plenty of Beer.

My luck has been so bad lately, it could be raining pussies and I'd catch one with a dick broke off in it.

I was told that a hunting club near Butler actually brought in some hogs from Tennessee in the early sixties. This club had a lot of well known names in Choctaw, Marengo, Clark and Washington counties in it.

I be caught over 250 hogs in lauderdale county last few years. Property next to our club used be a fox hunting club . Same landowner as ours. In the 80s they brought in hogs an sold hunts . More money in hog hunts that running foxes. Landowner run them off after he found out bout it . We inherited the 1000acre pen with lots of hogs. Caught 100 first year . Now maybe 20 a year after deer season . They have expanded all over lauderdale county now . Plenty on management area which is only few miles from us . Wardens have trapped few off management area last couple years . All over southern tn now . Lots dog hog hunters in that area . I work mostly in wayne co an there scattered everywhere.

USDA- Hey Cali we need a decent count of feral swine in your state.
Cali- Oh they are everywhere. Got to be in every county.
USDA- Ok we'll go with that.

I used to be in a club near Detroit. I was told that someone’s buddy had one on a camera once, but I never saw one in my two years there. (2016&2017)
