We have 6 shooting houses. They are not luxurious but they work just fine. They are your basic wooden boxes with cut outs for windows on three sides. About 6-8 feet off the ground. Floor is wooden planks with gaps so junk eventually falls through and a wooden bench made from 2-3 2x4s. They all have roofs and don’t leak. I would guess the sizes are roughly 6x6 footprint.

I think I am going to add some things to them. I take a cushion to sit on but don’t leave it due to things chew them up. I am going to add a thermometer, and add a few shelves in between the studs. I thought about adding curtains on the windows but it has never seemed to be much of an issue being seen. Thought about adding a cup holder. Thought about adding some foam mats on the floor.

I guess I am asking if there are anything’s you have in yours that you really enjoy.

All mine have shelves. Are fully insulated and have boat trailer carpet from the roof down, lexan windows some are tinted. Some of mine have office chairs and some have benches. The ones with benches are wrapped with mattress material and covered with something so they are soft like a bed. I put rubber mat material in the corners for gun rest and pipe insulation on the windows for a soft gun rest.

Deer view mirror! rofl

On a serious note, I’ve seen shooting houses that were placed out in a field that had mirrors on them from junked out trucks, and those mirrors were actually helpful (if your shooting house is not on the edge of a wood line).

The nicest shooting house I ever sat in had a gas heater and a recliner in it. It was a popular stand for husbands and wives who couldnt stand the cold. The older you get the better a warm shooting house feels.

As long as I have a comfy chair I’m good lol

Now that being said as I get older a snack, a heater if it’s real cold and an extra battery for my phone are nice. During the rut I’ve been know to take my laptop and work while on an all day sit on a good field. I’ve killed several good ones that way….

I have used a mirror taped to a piece of wire which was attached to a chair. This was very effective for hunting roads and I killed many deer by using it.

Good office chair that can recline a bit for a nap. Shelves for things. Nails to hang stuff. Small broom to keep somewhat clean. Plexiglas windows that swing up or sideways. Carpet. Door that latches from sides. We've got a bunch. Almost 20

Buddy of mine built a shooting house on stilts that had a small opening with a hinge on the floor. A large pvc pipe was under the opening that ran to about a foot into the ground. Obviously it wasn’t for #2, but for #1 I thought that was pretty neat. Same shooting house had an old lazy boy in it with a heater. You could watch a 1,000 yards on that power line both ways.

Why not just pee out of the blind? Deer don’t know who or what peed.

I like to carpet the window sills and the floor to make it quieter. A comfortable chair is good. A few nails to hang binos and stuff. I carry a buddy heater on brutal cold mornings. But that's not actually an accessory to the house. I like to use a sid panel plywood window that hinges from the top. It also doubles as a sunshade and rain diverter. A piece of paracord is used to open and secure it. That's about it.

My shooting house ,,, I made my curtains out of real tree camo burlap blind material..... I strung two strands of plastic coated copper wire per window to 4 small eye bolts per window, I measured and cut to size real tree camo blind burlap material spit them in two and weaved the curtains onto the wire, this way I could open or close the curtains without making any noise. I bought and cut to size black plastic foam insulators that you use for wrapping pipes and placed them on the window sills to keep down the noise.

I added a drink holder, some hooks to hang things on like a jacket and a fanny pack,,, I carpeted the floor,, I used a cushioned boat seat with a back rest on it bolted to a bar stool with bracket with the legs cut down to the foot rest , that seat was so comfortable I had to be careful not to fall asleep. Now to stay awake long enough and see a deer to kill.

I already had cross members screwed in and used them as shelves but I never really l put much on them , a grunt call or an empty wind detector bottle filled with corn starch. To me the more comfortable you are the better your able to stay still.

The idea of a mirror seems really good, imagine deer slipping past you that were behind you and never saw them or knew they were there. You might at least get a quick glimpse of the deer aw it scoots around trying to scent you.
