Call me crazy, but I don’t know if I’ve ever got into chiggers. I’ve been bit by mosquitos, pulled ticks off, and been bit by horse flies. I don’t know if it’s because I don’t know what they feel like or because I’m colorblind and can’t see the red, but if I don’t see myself getting bit, I just assume it’s an itch that’s gotta be scratched.

A chigger is a nasty bastard. They’ll go in any dark, hot, nasty, sweaty place they can find.

Spray your clothes to a damp condition. Let them dry. Spray around your sleeves and pant legs when going out. Put the clothes in bag if your next hunt is weeks away.
WELL... and I do mean WELL worth the time and price. Get around 6 or 8 bites on your beltline, and you'll be ready to try and defend yourself.
Instructions say the application will allow that you can wash your clothes. I never trust that, and reapply. Ticks hate it too. Wallyworld has it.

You have to be infected first. Smear it n the infested area and they will suffocate. Sure it’ll burn but it works.

Contrary to common belief, chiggers do not burrow into a host’s skin or suck blood. They pierce the skin with their sharp mouthparts and inject a digestive enzyme, disintegrating skin cells for food. Itching usually begins within 3 to 6 hours after an initial bite, followed by development of reddish areas and sometimes clear pustules or bumps. There is nothing to suffocate.

Meh, I says it will.

It be's that way sometimes.

Prevention is the key. I spray myself down with insect spray, spray my clothes, when finished working, immediately throw clothes in the washer, and take a shower. Had them twice, once while picking blackberries.

Tea Tree Oil for the win. CVS or Walgreens has it in a small glass bottle that has a roller ball to smear it around. I keep one in the door of my truck, works good on most bug bites.

Ive never heard of chiggerX. Chiggers are just a fact of life. I get them all the time even just walking in my yard. But, like someone else said picking blackberries usually earns a bunch.

My grandma used to smear turpentine on my bites when I was little or put me in a bathtub with bleach water. Doubt it helped, but it makes you feel like you've gone full nuke mode on them. I put calamine on my kids who tend to always have their armpits and midsections full of them.

I buy the concentrate at TSC and mix my own. Much cheaper than Sawyers.

Try wetting the area down with Listerine.

I don't remember where I heard it from but, the last time I had a bad case of chigger bites I tried and it does give you some temporary relief from the itching but, you will need re-apply it fairly often.

Whatever you do, don't drape spanish moss over your climber to help it blend in, that stuff is full of chiggers! Don't ask how I found out. Man they tore me up! Thought I had contracted some kind of social disease. Miserable.

Wish I could but I’m on a flight line all week again. It’s hot but it’s a cool job!

Wipe the bites down with Lacquer thinner. That'll dry them up.

Savanah / Fort Stewart has some world class chiggers.

So do the blue ridge mountains in GA.

Take a heaping tablespoon of yellow sulphur and wash it down with a coke.

You won’t get redbugs.

That's also the best cure for jock itch and chafing.
