I reported for jury duty a few years back, thinking there was no way I would be selected. I was wrong. Two weeks of missed work later, the trial was over. When we went into deliberations and voting, I was told that I was an alternate juror and was free to go....

If I were the judge I'd put him in jail through the end of the court session. Let him get a real look at the CJ system. It is funny though.

Same crap happened to me except it was just a full day. I was still ticked, you made me sit all thru this crap and then I don't even get to cast my vote!

I have watched some on video, and I would probably lose my mind sitting in there. They ask all these dumb questions that have nothing to do with anything.

Here is a good example from my lawsuit with the guy who rear ended me. My attorney objected to every question his attorney asked me in discovery. I think my attorney did the same thing in divorce discovery questions.

If you object to it, why not say, we aren't answering it until a judge says we have to answer it?

He's got a good point but he should show up and say it in person even if it costs him a days pay.

Contempt of Court. He could claim that he didn't get the Summons.......but oops, nevermind. He ruined that with the response.

No doubt you would. Just can't stand someone getting out of line so you can power trip his ass. You would follow orders till the end, probably put your own mamma in the slammer if they told you to.

Yeah I always feel bad for the alternate juror, especially when they’re attentive.

Actually you don’t get “picked”. We get rid of the ones that we don’t want and the jury is what’s leftover.

Jury duty is an inconvenience most of the time, but to have that attitude about it is as bad as kneeling for the national anthem in my opinion.

I heard a comedian once talking about how to get out of jury duty and he said to say something like, "I'm prejudice against every race, creed, color, and religion, including my own".

Not a thing.
