Just to clarify, my wife and I have a joint checking account that both of our paychecks go directly into. I was just wondering if paying bills out of a specific bill pay account may make money management somewhat easier.
I think Having a separate account that you bleed off your "savings" at payday makes sense. Then use the joint for bills. Then all monthly expenses come outnof that jount and you can tell how youre doung. Makes you clamp down during months that are tight rather than just acting normal. and spending too much.
