I know it has been in my adult life but can anyone point to the specific time that costed became an acceptable word for the past tense of cost? I see it all the time. We are seeing the movie Idiocracy playing out before our eyes. I should have named my son Frito in hopes he would become a lawyer.
Also sale and sell being improperly used drive me crazy.

Only on ALDeer. Otherwise, anybody that says costed is an IDOT

I have noticed more, to be honest, since that thread emerged 10 years ago. It's an actual word albeit not regularly used, though I do see it now and then.
I also see "casted" in some fishing stories: Jawbone casted his shad guts into the eddy hoping for a bite from a big catfish.
Another legit phrase, albeit old and now revived is "try and ...", such as this: Jawbone hopes to try and catch a big catfish. Or also, "Jawbone tried and failed to catch a big catfish."
Why not just use "Jawbone hopes to catch a big catfish" or "Jawbone failed to catch a big catfish" instead of a weird, dated phrase?
What I've discovered is that most uses in these instances are by young people who have been told "just write, it doesn't matter" or they get a ribbon for creating a "story" in school, or they don't have editors with spines who correct their work (or no editor at all). And so we get stories with costed and casted and "tried and ..." and other unusual phrases or words.

I get this one, a lot. Texted Yaw, for Y’all.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

I've noticed a great many young folks can't spell for crap. They write & punctuate sentences like they're texting a peer. Have also noticed a buttload of folks think the $ sign comes after the price. Exampe: 100$. Wrong as rain, but here we are.
The left lane is for the the purpose of moving the flow of traffic forward regardless of the speed limit. If your impeding the flow of traffic get your ass in the right lane. It's really that simple...

I hate Ast instead of asked. I’ve seen it in emails from people with a Master’s Degree.

That deer with giant horns ran past me and I flung an arra at it. I hit it and found blood, but ended up loosing it during the tracking and had to call for a dog.

I always like it when something is described as say Blue in color.
Or when you have to screw it down.
Or the southern classics. A hose pipe and a house trailer. Oh and washing powders. FIFY....
Did you know that Beer Nutz are over a Dollar...and Deer Nutz are under a Buck...

I've come to the conclusion that no great Aldeer thread is complete until someone misuses the words loose and lose...... sale and sell won't and want regardless and irregardless (not the same, but oft misused)
experience is a freakin' awesome teacher....
