As I was reading some of the earlier threads it had me thinking:
Aren’t there things that you can buy now with some sort of tracking stamps in them that can be hid on 4 wheelers, tractors, even tv’s etc…..

Might be time to invest in some AirTags?

I admit I’m not sure exactly how they work, but might be a good thought for some bait?

we put rebar cages over our windows and doors on a can-house inn Gieger, Sumpter Co. The stealing rat bastards cut a four foot hole in a wall with a chainsaw to get in......

If someone wants something bad enough, they're going to get it. And I have little faith in our justice system anymore when it comes to discouraging or catching/punishing the offenders. Right or wrong, you have to look at this like you look at pests like snakes and rodents. If you remove the food source, the pests will go elsewhere looking for food.

Sadly, about the only way to deter thieves is to simply remove anything they might find enticing. It shouldn't be that way, but that's the sad reality.

There are 3 certainties in an uncertain world:

1. All Politicians Are Liars
2. All Gun Laws Are an Infringement
3. Taxation Is Theft

The best theft ring happened in the pineapple area before 35mm game cameras. The man behind it was the power company meter reader. Who else had permission to piddle and snoop around your camp and if you showed up, he was your best friend. He knew what days you weren’t around and how many trailers would needed if none were there to steel.

We would get hit at our farm every few years growing up. All we had on the doors was a pad lock and the normal door locks. When I asked dad why he didn't do more to lock the place up, he said "a lock will keep an honest person honest. If a thief wants to get in, they will find a way to get in. I don't want them tearing up the house to steal a TV." Made sense then and makes sense now. Just hate that I can't have anything nice down there.

We havent had any issues since the 1980s. But, back then we learned small chains and locks are your friend.

though i dont even lock much anymore. ATVs, trucks and tractors just left with keys in them.

I heard a pretty well off guy who owns properties each well over 1000 acres in both Macon and south Montgomery counties got hit a few weeks ago. On one property, thieves made off with over 40k worth of SXS, tractor, ATV’s, ect. He’s since bought about 50 of those tracking devices. They made at least 2 trips to get all the stuff.

I’m gonna leave my opinion on what I’d do if I caught them in act to the imagination.

Sometimes the low life's figure there must be something really good in there. They will assume Fort Knox is inside. Sad thing is the damage they cause getting in is WAY more costly than replacing the stolen items.

One of the guys at work asked me a while back why I didn't lock my bins on my work truck. Easy answer, its a lot cheaper to replace a couple of Milwaukee drills and hand tools than to buy a new service body after my doors get pried off.

It won’t matter in a lot of southern counties. You could lead a sheriff directly to the item at their house complex and he is still better friends with them than you.

I used to hunt with a crazy Cajun down in Selma. Our camp got broke in to every year at seasons end within a day or two. One year he decided to wait them out. Crazy thing got into a shoot out with them. I don’t think any of them hit each other but they never broke in again.

Theft and piddling are the reason I left Dallas county years ago. Now I just pay my insurance premiums and know it can happen any day but I’ve got good neighbors and friends looking every day
