The wave height is secondary, the frequency is what will humble you if you don’t have sea legs.

On my 3rd trip out of South Daytona Capt.Frank told a new mate "Dave's perfect for you he doesn't drink or smoke and won't cuss you bad so suck it up buttercup and keep his hooks baited." Apparently ol'boy was from the pacific northwest granola types. I was tired hauling up fish but kept after it just to hear Capt.Frank "Squid on now! We're on'em keep moving!" Good times and yes I tipped Granola Boy $90.00.
Only hits count.

My cousin went with us several times before he ever got seasick and now he gets seasick almost every time. Usually after about an hour out. After the second trip of being sick, my BIL and I forced him to jump in (really threw him in) and it immediately got better. He still felt weak but was not puking and was able to fish. Now he jumps in after our first bait stop and usually does well unless it is real choppy.

I've been Seasick one time and had Altitude sickness one time. Both are horrible but definitely different. Seasickness is worse though in my opinion.
Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

I've never had an issue, but if someone gets sick around me (see, smell, or hear it) I start to get pretty nauseous - never to the point of puking, but my mouth will start watering and an occasional gag.
A friend of a friend was on a boat with us out of Venice, LA and when we reached the lump that poor fella was chumming the water, he never missed a beat and never left the rod. I bet he drank 2-gallons of bottled water to stay hydrated everyday we went out. He warned us ahead of time that he was going to get sick and no amount of Dramamine or patches would prevent it - and he was right.

My problem was not eating. If I went out on a full stomach I was fine if I didn’t I got sick. I could be sucking down bls on a full belly and be fine. But if i went out at daylight starving I get sick every time.
Would walk over a naked woman to get to a gobblin turkey!

The wave height is secondary, the frequency is what will humble you if you don’t have sea legs. 6-8 at 3 seconds sucks!!!! We Marlin fished off the coast of St Martin in 10-12s at like 13 second intervals. It wasn’t bad at all. And Destin pass can really pucker you up on an outgoing tide and a south wind. They stack up pretty good.

Went out of OB a few years back. Raining like hell and windy. I caught 2 and was done, the 5ft swells did me in. Sick the whole trip until we got back within 5 miles and the storm was gone. It was like glass the last hr of the ride in.. buddy of mine was puking and catching them. Ill never go back out after that trip.
A BAD DAYS HUNTING OR FISHING IS BETTER THAN ANY DAY AT WORK
