I’m pretty sure the new Lexus can be had for that. My thing was 80,000 + Jeep = confusion on my part. I had no idea a Jeep brand could fetch that. I’m not generally ON people for spending $. I’m just surprised they’re selling any at that price.

We evicted a girl earlier this year, her rent was something like $500 or so per month, about 6 weeks later after being evicted the chick proceeds to buy a $50,000ish Barbie pink Jeep Wrangler.

Wife and I have our own accounts too. It has worked well for us, can't recall a disagreement over money over 22 plus years. I was married for 10 years to my first wife and she handled all the financial stuff. She went nuts, short version. I got kids, house and my inlaws. good people, still my neighbors. I was never going to make the mistake of not knowing where my money was going ever again. I guess it would be fine to have just a single account but I would probably bitch and gripe every time she bought another pair of shoes. She has her bills she pays and I have mine, what each of us do with our income beyond that neither one cares. In the words of Whild Bill, "We know what works for us."

I’m lucky though my wife is pretty frugal. Not into jewelry and would rather have new shoes.
She’d never have an expensive ride even though she can more than afford it. Frets over how much hers cost now. She gets a new car every 3 years but may keep this one. A little longer since prices are so stupid.

I just can’t make myself pay that much for a vehicle. I’ve reached the point in my life that when I buy a vehicle I plan to keep it until it goes to the junkyard or it becomes a much sought after antique. My last 4 vehicle purchases have been used vehicles that I paid cash for and can currently sell them for the same I paid or actually for a little bit more.

To me a vehicle isn’t a status symbol, it’s a tool, a mode of transportation, something to get me from point A to point B. I don’t need everyone to ooh and ahh as I drive by. That being said, I did purchase my first car this year (never owned a car in my life) a Roush Mustang GT and it gets way more attention than I like.

I have a friend who is all about the looks and always trading vehicles. He has NEVER owned a vehicle, the bank always owns his vehicle and he is always making payments.
