Messages can be sent anonymously and a damn PI can’t find out who sent them. Calls can be made and no one can trace them back to the source. People using Spoofing apps do it all of the time.

Write a letter. Don’t sign it (obviously). Don’t put your return address on the envelope (again, obviously). Mail it from a post office in another town for the postmark. Don’t have to worry about cell towers, tracing, etc… Problem solved.
