Spin off on the transmission issue with GMs. I have been thinking about this for a while
I have a Black 2018 GMC SLT 4X4 with 46k miles. It's loaded with sun roof, Nitto tires, LineX, tint, leveled, all that. And it's paid for but the powertrain warranty goes out in November.
Ford gave me a trade in value of $39,000 but the Ford I would need to replace it was $61k. Then I would need to get it leveled, tires, tint, bedliner. But those are things I don't have to get right now. The transmission has never been really smooth but never has given me any problems. I just can't see financing another $22k for a new truck. I mean it sounds great, I can get a new truck for 22k but thats just because I paid off my current truck. Let's say the transmission does go out and it cost me $7k to fix it... I am still better off... well that' my logic.
What you think?

Not having a payment is a wonderful thing. If the transmission goes out, it's still better. Factor in also on top of that $22k a couple more grand for leveling/tires/tint/etc. Keep the truck
There is 2 different high fence. 1 small and one big! Mine was free range in the big pen and was not a breeder buck. Why does it have to be twisted around??

That transmission is 5200 for the new Jasper transmission ask me how I know. I would keep it man there not bad trucks after the transmission and AC condenser and get that active fuel management shucks deleted.

Keep it. You can “what if” forever. Even if you have to replace the transmission you’re still going to be $15k ahead. 190k miles on my 2010 F150 now. I love the truck. If I have to put a new motor in it tomorrow I’m still way ahead versus buying a new truck.

Why wouldn’t you consider buying a truck that was set up in a similar way from the factory instead of doing it with after market

Why wouldn’t you consider buying a truck that was set up in a similar way from the factory instead of doing it with after market Those custom trucks you see at the dealership are super high... I think I can do it myself for cheaper. And I try to keep it classy... I just put a front-end level kit, Nito Ridge Grapplers, Window Tint, LineX bedliner. I feel every truck that leaves the lot needs this basic upgrades. Now you can get the AT4 package and those do look nice.

Have the dealership change the transmission fluid and keep.

Keep the truck if you like it, change the transmission to a Jasper when it needs it and have a better transmission than any of the big three are putting out right now anyway in their "new" trucks. My rebuilt one is running just fine, I don't have any complaints. That "new" 22,000 truck will have it's problems too in the next little bit according to the people on Aldeer.
Now, if you just want a new truck, sell the truck you have yourself, don't let the dealer rip you off. Get more for it in the used market, walk in with cash in hand and buy it with cash, not financed. Interest rates have risen almost 1% on car loans in the past few months.

Why wouldn’t you consider buying a truck that was set up in a similar way from the factory instead of doing it with after market I’ve been told so don’t quote me, that the custom trucks from the dealer use the same components as their standard model. If you do it yourself you can get the heavier duty components.

Have the dealership change the transmission fluid and keep. That doesn't fix the trans in those 18's. I have one too. It's got about 65K miles on it and the trans slips and jumps. It's worse in cold weather. I'll never own another one. I've been a Chevy guy all my life. When I drove company trucks, I had a mix of chevys and fords over the years and always preferred a chevy. I have never, ever, like a Dodge, BUT my brother bought a 2020 Dodge and it's the cats meow. My next one will be a Dodge. That completely redesigned interior is really nice and they're comfortable too. A Dodge has never had a comfortable seat to me, but they do now.
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

Has anyone tried adding a 4oz bottle of limited slip diff additive to those sick Chevy transmissions? It's an old transmission shop trick that may work.
