I do that twice a month. I direct deposit a little every paycheck just to give me different ROTH options than I have in my 403B plan. I just rotate around the 4 funds I have in there. If my dad gives me $ at the end of the year, like he did last year, I will have to put it all into next year and probably change work back to tax deferred.

I did hear on the new legislation they are considering, that it would allow employer match to go into Roth too. Man I sure hope that is above the limit I can put in. But then I will have to figure out what to do with my excess. I guess I can drop it in a taxed account where my Roth is.

This thread made me anxiously check my 401k... and it wasn't bad. Looks like Principal is doing a good job managing things in these troubling times.

You can probably guess that I think it is going much lower. Personally, I believe we are already in recession and the numbers have been manipulated with respect to how they have been calculated since the Obama era and we've been printing money this whole time.....

I found some 7% bonds yesterday. Figured 7% was better than the 0% my cash was earning. Bought some more of my dividend stock. Now waiting to see how far Apple drops.

A big part of me feels bad for rooting this on, but I really could use homes, boats, and trucks to go on sale. So, another 10-20% hit in the market would help me.

Sorry

What's the scoop on those 7% bonds? Is there a limit to invest? Term?

US Treasury Bonds with a 7.625 rate. Matures 11/15/2022. One bond is $1000. No limit.

I’d bet 2008 repeat or worse

Most folks don’t know the FED hasn’t slowed pumping the banks since then.

Now the Fed tells us it can reverse course and unwind the emergency measures it first launched back in 2008.

None of that stuff is going down. It might “go up less fast” but still. Trucks ain’t gonna be $40k again. They’re $60k+ and will be. I hope I’m wrong! beers

The value of the dollar is less. I’m pretty clueless on a lot of this stuff but folks that I listen to that seem to know say that the removal of the gold standard and now many countries unpegging from the dollar has been a major downfall. Now the oil trade is not solely based on the dollar.

I keep being told this not good by any measure. Basically Obama and those that be have pretty much taken the US down
