I know this has been a subject on here before. I am currently with xstream/mediacom and my monthly bill is now right at 300 dollars per month. I can afford it, but can’t stand the fact that I am paying that much. Any ideas on a better solution?

We've been happy with YoutubeTV at $65/month....obviously that doesn't include your internet, and you need decent internet to run it. We have AT&T fiber (1 gig) and I think we're paying about $60/month for it....so $125-130ish/month for TV/internet combined.

Yep. Can't really think of anything we're missing. All local networks, like 4 ESPN's, SEC Network, several other sports channels, all the major cable channels...

We use YouTube TV. Went from paying $150/month for Dish to $65/month. One of the things I like about YouTube TV is you still get your local channels for weather and sports. We use my son's Netflix account and we already had Amazon Prime so we have more TV than I need to watch.

Couple of YouTube tv questions:

1. Do you need a box or just smart tv with YouTube app?

2. Can you have multiple tvs on same service? Can two tvs be logged in at same time?

3. Can I use the same service when I travel or in a second home?

4. If I connected somewhere else would I get those local channels?

Thanks for answering!

Couple of YouTube tv questions:

1. Do you need a box or just smart tv with YouTube app?
it's an app that you download on your phone/ipad/smart tv/roku/etc

2. Can you have multiple tvs on same service? Can two tvs be logged in at same time?
the base subscription lets you have 2 or 3 at a time...I think you can pay a little more for additional logins at a time

3. Can I use the same service when I travel or in a second home?
yes, if you're travelling you can change your location to see that area's local stations

4. If I connected somewhere else would I get those local channels?
see above

Thanks for the info! I need to test it out for 2 weeks and see if I like it, then maybe drop a few things!

They have a free trial...it's a week or 2 I think. Also, with YTTV, there's no contract, so you can always drop it later if you find something you like better.

Now using yttv

Noticed there aren't channel numbers....how can you easily go from one channel to another without scrolling all channels?

I’ve looked at all the streaming options but we only pay $160 for internet, TV and phone through Spectrum. By the time I pay internet, YTTV and a couple premium channels I’m at the same price. I’ll stay with what we have. Your mileage may vary.

You can login on a computer and you can rearrange the channels in any order you want, so that your favorites are at the top. If you're using a roku/firestick and you want to flip back to the last channel you were watching, click down 3x while you're on the current channel and you can go to recents. That's probably my only "gripe" (and I got over it quickly and don't really care anymore) is that if I'm on one channel I can't just enter a number to go directly to another channel. But it hasn't been a big deal really.

One more question:

is there a tv guide that shows a timeline of what on and what's coming up?
