At auburn people like jimmy raines and other boosters actually believe auburn can be a top 5 team every year. That’s not going to happen. There aren’t enough elite athletes to pull from bama , Georgia, Florida, and multiple other schools within 300 miles of auburn. It’s mathematically impossible with what surrounds auburn. The national championship and Gus first year set an unattainable expectation. Losing to Florida state and what happened the next season started the loosening of the lug nuts and it will take a miracle or some recruiting and development at a level never seen to consistently be a top 5 program. Harsin is probably a great coach and recruiter but he will be fighting an uphill battle every single day. Elite talent can be outplayed and out coached , but talent will always win more consistently. Blah Blah Blah. Same shucks, different mouth. Auburn can and will win. Saban will retire or die eventually. Bowl cut at UGA will end up fired in a scandal. Harsin showed some brass nuts in firing his WR coach. Brass nuts? How so? A blind monkey can coach WRs. Harsin took the "Biden" route and just fired someone so that he could say and look like he was working on the problem. WR coaches are a dime a dozen and that would be the least impactful move he could make while still looking like he actually did something. What'd he fire him for, WRs dropping the ball? That's not on the coach, that's on the players. Just another deflection. Truth be known, the WR coach probably told Harsin after the GSU game that he sucks as a coach and has no business coaching in the SEC after almost getting beat and Harsin starting Nix for the previous 4 games. That's a much more likely story than the WR coach was fired because his WRs didnt run crisp routes and dropped balls. Probably gave the WR coaching job to a GA right after he made the tough coaching call to fire him. LOL

Nope not a dime a dozen... $600,000.00 for a 2yr contract that they have to pay. I can bet you there was something going on behind the scene because as a coach you don’t fire a staff member who has nothing to do with play calling 4wks into the schedule. He was made a scapegoat and that causes dissension and miss trust amongst the players and the other coaches.

That may be what AU is paying but AU has never had a WR coach worth over $150K a year (going rate for most non-P5 D1 position coaches). Then again, AU has a long and distinguished history of over-paying coaches, both present and fired. So them overpaying for what they are getting is well documented and to be expected. I think that $300K/yr is about half of what Bama and others in the SEC, WR coaches are being paid. I agree with you RCHRR that there is something else behind the scenes and it definitely will create dissension amongst the players and other coaches.

Dude couldn't get his players to line up correctly or have them on the field in a timely manner. PS- Saban is still a hair dyeing queer.

Tony Franklin is correct about the auburn boosters. Looking at tony Franklins resume , which I just did , he doesn’t have much room to be critical of anyone, even auburn. He is right about how auburns football program is structured, but everyone already knew what a turd sandwich operation it is, even most auburn fans. The receivers coach Harsin fired had to be doing something besides failing at his job, we just don’t know what. Rumor has it he told Harsin to f@&$ off on the sideline when Harsin was crawling his ass for not get the receivers on the field in a timely manner. Probably will never know if this is true. As far as Franklin goes he’s a LOSER. He has a massive amount of butt hurt about Auburn. Look at this article from 2009. He’s has zero credibility in my opinion. https://www.thewizofodds.com/the_wiz_of_odds/2009/06/franklin-all-they-do-is-pray-at-auburn.html
