Take the Meds. I’m guessing you got prescribed Flomax, Toradol, and probably Norco. At least take the flomax and Toradol.

I had 43 of them. Take the meds and keep them in your system. If you don't it's too late and you'll be right back at the er begging for another shot!!

I hope he gave you a script for Toradol. It's a prescription NSAID and is highly effective for kidney stone pain.

Take some meds, trust me you will get EXHAUSTED tryin to tough that pain. If it hasn't started feeling like dull butchers knife cutting from that point in your ribs around to your cod sack..... the fun hasn't even started.

Good luck!

Get into a hot bath. Not after taking the pain meds Unless you have someone watch you. I did it and since I wasn’t used to taking pain meds they knocked me out in the tub.

Ive had em twice. The first time I ended up passing before I left the ER. They thru the medicine cabinet at me to stop the pain. It took a few days to get over the foggyness from the meds. The second time I had a 9mm one that they had to go get. It didnt hurt as bad as the smaller ones because it wouldnt move. Had the stint and they put me back out to remove it. Stones Suck!!

They removed both my stints with me awake. Worse 3 seconds of my life.

Had a stint from the tip to the kidney. Damn thing must have been 2' long. Took it out while I was standing. After the pain of the stone it wasn't that bad of an ordeal. I didn't even care that it was females that removed the stint. Just wanted the damned thing gone.

They should have given you some Flomax to take as well. Opens your piss tube up and makes it easier to pass. They won’t do anything for 5mm and below

I had 5 at once. The first one was far and above the others pain wise. They were no joke but that first one was awful. I don't know that it helped but I give credit to the olive oil honey and lemon juice concoction. I had about 3 a day for three or 4 days.

Thanks for all of the info/advice guys. My script was for Norco 7.5’s. Fortunately Ive had very little pain today. I did get the script filled and have it on standby. I’ll be referred to a urologist tomorrow. I wasn’t prescribed any flomax.

Lithotripsy will be your best friend. Also, if it gets the pain is too bad, Dilauded is the most effective pain killer for a stone, Trust me, I know this first hand from one that took a month and two Lithotripsies to get rid of.

Also, if you are taking any kind of Aspirin or Motrin, stop now unless it is keeping you alive because they won't do a Lithotripsy within a week of taking any kind of blood thinner. That is why my ordeal lasted as long as it did. Brookwood seems to be the go to place for the Litho procedure in Alabama. Other places do it but not as well as Brookwood. At Brookwood they dip you down in a big tub of water for it. That is supposed to be more effective than just laying on a table. They do a number of them a day and run patients through like an assembly line. Good luck with it.

Don’t be a hero, at least get the meds filled incase you need them. Trust me you will regret it if they start moving around and you don’t have Anything. I had 2 stones few yrs ago and the bigger one was around 5mm+ I think. They hurt on and off some for 2.5 months until I passed them both literally at the same time. Honestly that part didn’t hurt at all. But when they start moving around inside it can be rough. I had to go to the ER only once during that time. I fought going for 3-4 hrs that day and finally I had to give in. They gave me something in an iv specifically used for stone pain and boy it worked. I would highly suggest a lot of prayer on this and trust God to get you through it. My case “should” have been a lot worse but God truly worked a miracle.
All those lemon juice remedies are just myths I believe. Try to drink a gallon of water per day.

I forgot to add another thing I tried before passing the first one. Let me be clear by saying the first pain woke me up at 415 and withing 20 minutes there was no way I could have dealt with the pain without a trip to the er. Once they diagnosed it and the third type of pain med gave some relief they sent me home with 5 stones. Like I said I give credit to the olive oil concoction for passing them but one guy told me to drink a beer as quick as I could then jump as high as I could. It took two before I got the courage to do it. That without a doubt got the moving the right direction. Like others have said, the last leg of the trip is not that painful but the first two legs are a different story.
