I need to tell everyone a little about what happened this morning. Might put things in perspective and allow us to tap the brakes on the covid ordeal...


I went with my wife to her first ultrasound this morning. Some weeks ago we found out she is pregnant with our second child....The particular doctor's office mandated that I sit out in the hallway. I was allowed to go back to exam rooms and the ultrasound room with Mrs Nightwatchman, but I could not sit in the waiting room. Myself and the other dads sat in the hallway.

At first I thought, "This is so stupid, makes no sense for one of us to sit out here when we are BOTH about to walk into the back of the office for the ultrasound." However, I soon found myself in a conversation with two other dads in the hallway. With little else to do we started talking about how many kids we already have and how the most recent pregnancies of our wives were going. Admittedly, I was a little rude at first...I was irritated to still be dealing with these stupid covid rules, and It did not appear at surface level that I would have ANYTHING in common with the other dads there in the hallway(their designer shoes and skinny jeans contrasted sharply with my railroad boots and long hair stuffed up under a greasy old work hat)

I felt the Holy Spirit start to move so I ask both the dads if it would be alright for me to share a little scripture with them. I shared Psalms 139-being as everyone there was now a dad-"I am fearfully and wonderfully made...The days of my life ordained from me are written in your book"..I assured both dads (their names were Bryan and Connor, their unborn children were named Sawyer and Anneliese) that they, their wives, and their unborn children would be in my prayers....

Would I have presented the Gospel with these men in a different setting? Had I been allowed to be in the waiting room would they have heard my appeal to God? Did they forget all about it the second I walked away? Who knows, The LORD works. We have only to plant the seeds.

Don't let circumstances that anger us wedge their way in to Christ's calling. Find the silver lining in a situation and use it as another opportunity to Submit to Christ's authority, resist sin, and come to Him.

Our baby dr app I have to sit in the vehicle and then come in to the sonogram room but not when the dr visits
