So; when you order from Amazon or anywhere else online; do you need someone to check you out??

Agree that store has been run extremely well for a few years now.

Won’t hire cashiers but will keep grandma and grandpa at the doors asking to see your receipts.

Hiring retired folks that want to or need to work is one of the things they do right

Unlike most on Aldeer, I'm a fan of Walmart in general but particularly enjoy the Auburn location.
It's right at 1mile from the condo so it's very convenient and beats the hell out of the Winn Dixie on this side of town. That Winn Dixie is downright sorry.

Their grocery pick up service is amazing, we typically place an order every week.
The tire center has great prices, it's typically very quick, open more hours than most tire shops and many more locations compared to most tire centers.
They have ammo and guns(no guns in Auburn), be it more limited than it was in the past.

Some of Walmart's business practices I'm not a huge fan of but what corporate retailer can't you cast stones at in 2021.
Though I much prefer Costco VS Sams Club, if given the choice.

my wife has the app on her phone for pickup, delivery and scan as you go . she uses all three depending on her schedule . she particularly likes the scan as you go . she has her own reusable bags and scans each item as she puts them in her bag. when she get to self check out it down loads straight in to register. takes her a couple minute to check out even with a buggy full. I like the app we get a .05 cent discount at the fuel pump .

They're there for a reason. We stopped people trying to walk out with computers, garbage cans filled with ink cartridges, t.v.s and much, much more when I worked there.

Last couple of trips into W-hell they didn't even have enough self check outs open. Never mind finding one that would accept cash. Finally found one line that wasn't marked "card only" only to find out it wasn't accepting cash either.

Self checkout doesn't bother me near as much as having a bunch of them turned off and not accepting cash while you wait in line just like before they made me do it myself.

From a business perspective, cash is 100% absolutely a liability.
Puts them at risk of employee theft and/or robbers.
Right, wrong or indifferent...cash is dying and it'll start happening more and more quickly.

Try ordering a beer on a flight, CARD ONLY is now the norm.

All the cashiers will now be assigned to a self checkout station to approve all the sales on tobacco, alcohol, paint, glue, etc etc etc

App based scanNgo and self checkouts will get more and more popular, especially right now with the difficulty hiring and retaining.

Computers won’t try to unionize, get sick, steal from you, ask for unemployment or no call no show.

Really only thing I hate about self checkout is the waiting and getting approval for a case of beer
