Just wondering if anyone on here has TESTED positive for covid a 2nd time after testing positive the 1st time? Supposedly it’s rare to get it twice! My wife and myself had it around thanksgiving and all the stuff you see now is covid this and delta that,I work in the service industry and around hospitals, schools, food industry, she’s in the medical industry and neither one of us are vaccinated, nor do we plan to! If you have been vaccinated or if you have not, each to your own, last time I checked we’re still the LAND OF THE FREE(for now) GOD BLESS EACH AND EVERYONE OF YALL!!

There was somebody on here today said most of their family is on round two. Some of them vaccinated as well. Youll have to dig and find it.

It was Deerman24. His grandsons pretty sick with it right now.

I think we are all learning on the fly. I’ve had patients get ill again within 3-4 months after initial illness. The more concerning issue is the number of “breakthrough” infections I’ve seen in the last week just in my patient population including one in the ICU now on BiPap. He is immunocompromised due to battling cancer but disheartening when you have vaccine failures.

Everyone has their theory - my own is that as this virus makes its way through the population it mutates slightly over time, and those changes cause differences in severity, how contagious it is, and “signature” to our immune system. So perhaps what hits you 6-9 months ago is slightly different than what hits you today. That, combined with a waning immune response, might mean you catch it again.

The way I figure it this initial attempt at the vaccine was their best attempt under severe time crunch. I’m sure subsequent developments will incorporate lessons learned. (Fingers crossed will be more effective and long lasting)

My theory is its alot like a cold or the flu, except for that one person out of a thousand it tries its best to kill. Now if our govt and our good doctors really wanted to help people, they would quit spending all their time focused on pushing a vaccine that dont work and start trying to figure out who that one out of a thousand person is and why. That guy is the one who needs help, the rest of us will be just fine. Matter of fact, it would be the best for everybody if the rest of us all just got it at the same time and got over it on our own. But i guess thats just dumb.

Doc, even the CDC Director has admitted that these so called break through cases are indeed not at all break though cases and the data is showing they’re pretty dang common, and increasing.

I think the second timers never had it the first time considering the test would show a positive for other viruses

Here's what I posted to a similar question:

I don't work in a hospital but do work in Fire/ EMS. We have 36 employees. Over last summer, roughly 20 of us got covid. So far, no confirmed repeats. My wife had covid 2 weeks ago. We stayed together and didn't change anything. I'm pretty sure i would have popped positive, but it was extremely mild: congestion, sinus pressure, slight headache. The first go around, I was the sickest at our department. 14 days of fever over 101 with medicine on board, extremely sick, coughed until I could hardly breath. I think my body did exactly what it should have this time. I don't have the vaccine.

I would call it a vaccine that doesn’t work. You want us to believe that only a few vaccines didn’t work. Hence vaccine failure. This virus was created to mutate as it goes along so there’s no vaccine that is gonna continuously work as the mutations occur.

What are the thoughts on if the “vaccine” isn’t promoting these variants? Kind of like MRSA. The staph that survived the treatment is now stronger and resistant.

So someone got vaccinated, got sick, and spread a new “variant”

Thoughts??

Yeah not sure “breakthrough” is the right term. That’s why I called it a vaccine failure. As you guys noted, viruses mutate and makes our natural or vaccine immunity less effective. Not unexpected but disheartening nonetheless.

I would have a little respect for you if youd just go ahead and admit two things 1) this "vaccine" is not a vaccine 2) this "vaccine" does not work. You are right on the edge of it. Just jump on in, the waters fine.

I can see where the virus, once in contact with a vaccine of sorts, instead of being controlled it mutates into a different and possibly stronger variant. We have to remember that this is a man made virus and we don’t know exactly what it was programmed to do.

I think the vaccine has been incredibly effective in a certain sense. Go look at the peak hospitalizations back in early January, then look how those numbers (and deaths) plummets through the spring. All the older and at risk people had the vaccine available and as a result the most severe cases were cut dramatically. Our medical system was at the brink during that time and the vaccine came just in the nick of time.

That sequence of events has nothing to do with whether my 12 yr old ought to get the vaccine or some random healthy as a horse 25 year old man ought to get it. But for the at-risk population my personal opinion is that the vaccine was a blessing.

They never claimed that this mRNA "vaccines" would prevent you from getting it at all, just that if you did that your case would be milder and far less likely to end up in the hospital or dead from it. But, yes, chances are that new strains continue to emerge as it mutates. Considering that every year (well, up to last year anyway), people would be diagnosed with Flu A or Flu B and what strains are considered as each of those are sometimes different from year to year. That is the flu shot doesn't always prevent you from getting the flu. They make their best educated guess as to what strains will be prevalent and produce vaccines for those. Sometimes, they are like the "wathermen" and miss the forecast.
