C. I killed three nice 8’s this season, and one of those was a wallhanger. That’s on par with what I expect each year. I’ll also say that I give God an A+++ rating for all the beautiful sunrise’s I got to see this season. The photo below is the sunrise on the morning I killed my first 8 pt in KY. The real thing was 50 times better than how it looks in the pic.

A. Had a great season. 2 nice bucks, 3 does and my sons first racked buck. Got no complaints.

In terms of killing and seeing deer it was a B+.
Freezer is full and I put tags on the first deer off of my own property here in SC. It was really rewarding to take a deer in a place I put time and effort into creating and maintaining. Also passed on a buck that will be a wall hanger next season so there is a lot to look forward to.

That said, this was the first year in a long while I didn’t kill one on public land. That’s the only reason my season didn’t get an A. It was a fun season but with moving into a house and all the things that come with that, my time in the woods was limited and that is really why I go. Seeing and killing deer is the bonus.

I can’t really fit mine into the A-E deal but it was a solid 7 out of 10 and I quite enjoyed it.

E.

I got obsessed with striper fishing with ms muzzie on the weekends and just didn’t have any motivation to hunt during the week. I run a club and I typically hunt around 40-45 times a season. This year, only hunted twice, opening day and next to last day. Saw bucks on each hunt but just didn’t feel it like I have for the past 45 years of hunting. Hope that changes next year.

My hunting was a c but I'll claim an A because of rattling a buck in at 20 yards for my son's first deer.

A for me, had over ten three year old bucks and one that’s at least four in my scope that I let walk. My oldest and youngest doubled up on two big does From the same stand the day after he returned from basic, and the youngest killed two nice three year olds one of which was a piebald. A buddy of mine tagged out on the farm and a kid killed his first deer today. It stopped being about the kills for me a long time ago.

It happened quick. I caught movement about 2 minutes after banging on my horns. Went from my butt to my hands and knees crawled around the base of the tree and was looking over my son's shoulder as the buck basically came right in on us.

I think I was more nervous than my son because I knew how close the gig was to being over.
