Gather up four of your friends. Statistically, one of you will die from a heart-related problem. Let's make sure it's one of the others and test your heart health now.

The Test

Walk up 4 flights of stairs in under 45 seconds.

The Rules

1.) Start a timer and walk (don't run) up four flights of stairs. That's 60 steps.
2.) No stopping and resting.

How to Evaluate Your Results:
Anything under 45 seconds is good.
Around 60 seconds means you might have some work to do.
Anything over 90 seconds and, well, make a doctor's appointment.
Remember, this isn't a sprint to the top. Just walk and make sure you can sustain that pace.

Researchers at the European Society of Cardiology devised this as a quick test of overall heart health and to judge your likelihood of developing coronary artery disease. It was quite accurate when compared to stress tests and heart imaging studies.

I live in a four story house with four flights of stairs. Since COVID, I probably do that 20 times a day or more.

So basically if you're out of shape your more likely to have a heart attack. That's cutting edge science right there

I have 2 flights. One is 12 steps and one is 16. I guess my house is crooked. Either way I would say 60 steps in 45 seconds is moving pretty good if not running.

I had to install some equipment in the control tower in Lynchburg Va. and the elevator went out. They had a big argument over who was responsible for fixing it meanwhile I’m running my fat butt up and down 5 floors of stairs all day.

I’ve noticed I don’t do hills as well as I once did. Got to do some walking before turkey season.

Ok. What you might need to do is:
Get a Lipid Panel
Check blood pressure
Evaluation of family history
Do you smoke???
Diabetes???

Guys simple truth is that if you have a family history that is the biggest factor. If you smoke and have diabetes, tell your family you love them. It won’t be long.

Lipids can be controlled
Diabetes can be controlled to a degree but there are lots of complications with that disease.
Smoking can be stopped
Blood pressure can be controlled
Family history is not a controllable factor. So if you have a family history. Check into all of the other things.

. Yeah, I have a backpack and a few hills calling my name, but I choose to sit here and give opinions on aldeer.

If I'm standing in a group of people odds are about 100% that I'm dying of a heart attach before anyone else. When your cardiologist gives you a yet another new prescription and tells you " take these pills it may prevent sudden death from your next heart attack", you pretty much understand where things are going.

Interesting but I’m gonna throw this out there. Everyone dies from heart related issues. Not sure I know anyone who’s passed and their heart was still beating.
