They got bent over like Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction in 1966, for sure.
Putting southern football 'on the map' doesn't mean anyone should claim 23 titles from specious presenters, though. I know the history of the name and fight song. None of that means anything other than sentimentality in relation to who won a title. Back then they were given out by multiple publications and sources, with no real, definitive and "only" source.
But it made for good propaganda for UA to pick up all those old mythical titles and the Alabama sports media at the time lapped it up, and so be it. Whether it's a dozen or 18 or 23, it's impressive and clearly inarguable from 1960 onward.
Also, I love watching the old games when they ran the wishbone and veer option. If I was a coach now, we'd have the wishbone and old Jax State "broken bone" incorporated into the game plan for special moments. The other team would call time out, but if they didn't I'd be surprised if they could defend the bone or option. Maybe the option, as it's sorta like RPO, but the end has to make a choice. Old school ball was fun.

There are several teams in high school that still run Wing-T. These schools don't always have the horses a Hoover, Thompson or Auburn have, but it sure causes some fits. I've seen teams in the past 15 years use it to get pretty far into the playoffs.

18th but who's counting.... RTR.... The math department at UAT is not very good. . There is no such thing as UAT! UAT is merely made up by the wannabes from UAB, UAH and other schools that do no have our tradition, their complex is stunning when it comes to The University of Alabama. It’s clear we’re not considering academics...

In some areas you're correct.... engineering, veterinary, wildlife biology, etc But in other areas such as business, finance, law, etc Bama takes the cake. The Culverhouse School of Commerce (Alabama's Business School) is consistently rated one of the top 10 public business schools in the nation. I'm not sure why people find it necessary to try to denigrate either school's degree programs. My entire family graduated from Auburn. I attended Bama and met my wife there in fact. If my son chooses to go to Auburn I"ll support him 100% because I know he'll get a solid education, just as he would at the Capstone.

True, very true. Each has outstanding areas of excellence, as do other universities and colleges. When our kids were in high school and we were in gatherings, someone would ask where so-and-so was going. If it was UA, a Barner would say something like "Ewww, why there!?!" and if it was AU, a Gump would say something like "Yeain't gon learn much!" It's been that way forever and will be, unfortunately. The best thing to do is put them on the spot in front of everyone and say, "Why would you say that about someone?" So juvenile. Just celebrate and lift a kid for being able to go to any higher education IF that's what they desire, and encourage it. There's too much negative crap to begin with, and shitting on an 18-year-old's choice of university or college only makes that person look small, uneducated and immature.

Yep, my kid is wearing that arnge and blue at UT Martin and i couldn't be happier or more proud (as a bammer).

I work in engineering for a very large energy company. I have worked with many engineers from Georgia Tech to Mississippi State. The best engineers I have worked with have come from Alabama, UAB and Mississippi State. Some of the worst have been from Auburn and Georgia Tech. That’s interesting. I’d be perfectly happy if my kid went to any of those schools. Anyone that says otherwise is probably just stirring the pot.
