I had a Savage 10 300 WSM a few years back that I wanted to make a 35 Sambar, let a guy talk me out of it though. Wish I would have kept that one, if it had been a model 16 stainless I would have.

I would do 7 SAUM myself but there is really nothing you can build off it that is going to set anything on fire. .270 WSM was underrated IMO. They have some bullets coming out might get a justified second wind. To me the .300 and .270 WSM and the 7 SAUM.. those were the ones. 6.5 SAUM I've been shooting that since it was known as a .264 Rocket. Not sure I would go there because it really can't do anything the 6.5 PRC or 6.5x284 long action can't do. No government employees were harmed in the making of this mess.
