It is my understanding that a youth hunter needs to have the bait permit if we are hunting over bait. Before I jump through all the hoops I wanted to make sure this is correct. I don’t want to pay the Chucky tax but I will to be legal.

My understanding is if you help, as in tracking, dragging, etc you need it too. Maybe I'm wrong.

My son is 6 and shot his first deer last year on youth day he shot a doe over a field showered in corn. He had and got another this year a shiny hard card bait license, with name and they got his SS#, but not on the card.Ridiculous but he thought he was a big shot with his card.

No one would get "arrested" but the parent or legal guardian can receive a ticket for a minor's infraction. You’ll find Alabama’s parental responsibility law at Code of Alabama section 6-5-380. This law can be used to hold a parent, legal guardian, or other person liable for certain acts taken by a minor (a “minor” being a person who is under 18 years of age) when: the person has “care or control” of the minor the minor is living with the person, and the person has custody of the minor.
