Any recommendations on the best duck hunting waders to buy?

Don't buy Mac's unless they changed vendors. They are junk. Roger's are pretty damn good. I had a pair of them. I too am in same boat I gotta have some this year. My Son has a pair of Sitka and man let me tell you "dems som fine waders"! I have had just about all kinds in the past 35 years. My Wife's cousin is a part time guide in AR. He is connected with Drake and has used their waders for last couple years and really likes them. Says they are really durable. Me, I am still undecided but I better get some quick.

Rogers breathables are very nice. I will probably never buy another pair of neoprenes after wearing breathables.

I’ve been wearing drake guardian elite breathables since last year. I really like them.

Absolutely. I’ve been wearing breathables for a while now. If I ever have to go back to wearing neoprene I’ll just quit hunting.

I am currently using Banded black label insulated breathables. I’ve had Mack’s breathable that did not last a season. Their older neoprene lasted well, but the last pair I got sucked. I bought a neoprene Lacrosse before that and still have a pair hanging in the garage. had mixed results. I’ve got friends who are high on FroggTogg brand.

Longest lasting neoprene was the cheap Itasca brand I bought my son when he was younger. They survived everything he threw at em.

Roger are just Frogg Toggs and they are great. The boot runs a size big though and I had to size down

I was told that too. Also, I was told that there is a sporting good store in Arab that you could go to and get measured for a custom set of Frogg Toggs. Any truth to that?

I don't know that they qualify as "best" but I have been satisfied with my Itasca breathable waders. They lasted longer than my Banded breathable waders and cost much less. They may start leaking opening day but were perfect by the end of last season. The best were the Cabela's with the lifetime warranty but the newer versions are not close to the same quality.

Where did you find the breathable ones?

Don’t know about that but I tried to order some Frogg Togg waders over the phone and they didn’t have my size. She told me to go check Rogers because they sell them waders without Frogg Togg logos.

Over the years I guess I’ve tried most every brand out there starting with the old canvas redball waders padded down to me by my cousin that were 2 sizes to big at the time but the best pair I ever had for longevity was a pair of neoprene lol bean that were indestructible. I almost had to peel them on and off and my buds referred to them as the human condom. In today’s world of breathable I guess I would say the frogg Toggs are the best bang for the buck but it’s a crap shoot to see if you get a good pair I’ve seen guys take them out of the box and they leaked but overall I’ve had about 4 pair and they are ok. I’ve got a pair of too expensive banded breathables that I use in really cold weather for marathon hunts and they have good boots for walking too. I wore Mack’s for years and used their warranty they had at the time often when I hunted a lot within an hour of their store. Overall I guess for today’s waders the frogg toggs are the best bang for the buck and they really are comfortable

Issue I have had in past is waders like frog togg have 100” inseam. Seriously I tried on several types at fants years ago and they were all too long. I got on their website yesterday and looked and no inseam sizing. Also, I have had a couple pair of stout waders and I could have put me and my dog in them.

I guess I will wait for Rogers to have that big sale. Wish there was somewhere close that I could go and try some on. Damn sure miss the days of fants having a good selection.

Drake322 I certainly understand your wanting to try them on before buying I like to do that too. I always tried them on at Mack’s back in the day but unfortunately we are not close to a duck hunting store in the lost flyway we live in. I’m 6’4 so the inseam is ok for me but I do understand firsthand how waders I’ve bought would fit me and my dog inside

wk2hnt, I bought a part of Drake last year model off Wing Supply several years back in a stout. Good gosh you could have fit two of me in there and I am 5'8" 240. That is why I will hopefully be able to go an try some on somewhere.
