My guess is she was told to wear a mask, or leave the property. She refused to do either. The arrest would have been for something else. Same thing when someone on here was told to wear a mask before entering an ABC store to buy alcohol.

I think she messed up by resisting. Was this Alabama? It appears that she was social distancing, other than the assumed family she was with. I agree 100% that the arrest is stupid. For starters they need to get a clear understanding of "guidelines" then tell what is enforceable by law. I don't know why we can't get back to normal and let the individual choose if they want to wear protection. Next thing you know they will be throwing teenagers in the slammer for not wearing a condom. I would guess the overwhelming majority of folks who are there truly don't mind the mask "order" or they would not be there in the first place, hence the lack of support from the crowd.

Are any of yall seeing this type of behavior here in Alabama? I never wear a mask and only one store has asked me to put one on (Staples in Madison). I kindly told the kid that I don't wear masks and he asked me if I knew what aisle the items I needed were on. I told him yes and I went and got them and was gone. That's the only trouble I've had so far.

I have no problem with places requiring a mask but that was way over the line. That was excessive force, im assuming she was sitting with a family member and they were far away from anyone else. What was his point?

And did i not see 2 other kids there without masks on?

I don't ever agree with resisting an officer, if the officer is in the wrong, get a lawyer and take care of it. However, all of this over a mask, a little over the top.
