I guess High School football does take precedence over all.
The new Elberta HS will be playing St. Michael's Catholic HS this Saturday.
In an area hit extremely hard by the hurricane and with scores of students still without power the game is gonna be played.
I thought the AHSAA had a rule that if school was not being attended there could be no practices or games. At least that what we went through when my son played HS baseball on several occasions

It’s call trying to be as normal as possible and get the community out to support each other. You don’t have to attend, go ahead and boycott it.

I've never heard of any rule about school having to be open for games to be played.

Yeah, wonder if they're thinking of a weather day? Schools out for naders (or a drizzle) or snow. Can't have practices/games.

When I was in school an individual student had to be in school on gameday to be eligible but I dont know of ant rule on school being in session.

Guys there's nothing normal about this place down here and won't be for awhile. you won't recognize it if you come next year. Pretty sure the team practiced this morning for first time since they played 2 weeks ago on Friday night. I'm not against them playing at all.
I'm praying for safety for all just traveling. The roads in any direction away from the school have debris piled up and in many cases hanging over the white lines into the lanes and some of this is giant logs.
just picked my daughter and friends up from the relief effort one block from the school, they've been helping with the relief effort handing out food and ice...some still without power and water due to being on single user lines. Sometimes it's just best to call the dogs off.

If I was one of those kids I’d be playing ball if it was an option
