You guys better keep your fingers crossed that this one gets played. With 2 opt outs and at least 12 players out for covid the Missouri team is thin. Supposedly they may have to reclassify a tight end as a lineman so they can make the minimum SEC requirement for lineman.

Even if it is played I wouldn't expect much of a game with so many o-linemen out and their best d-tackle. Playing with walk on skill players is one thing but trying that with the offensive and defensive line is tough enough when playing a non power 5 school. Not to mention doing it when playing the best program in country.

We can only hope that they DON'T PLAY.

It will be interesting to see Bama’s next quarterback Bryce
Young play.

My understanding is they have to have a 53 man roster like the "not for long" league.

The harder I practice, the luckier I get.

Yes, but you also have to have 7 scholarship linemen on roster. Out of the original 15 rumor is that Missouri is now sitting at 7 eligible. So, one more injury or whatever puts them under the SEC rule. Rumor is that only a couple guys are positive but the others have to sit out due to contact tracing. This would be a good year for the starters to not to all room together.

70 or 80 may be a bit much. But 52 to 7 wouldn't surprise me. Just would stink to get all the backs banged up for the whole year because nobody up front had seen 1st string reps. We'll see. Saban hasn't said if any of his players are out. Who knows, it may be a battle of the 3rd stringers (of which all of the tides are 4* recruits anyway so that may actually be worse).

There are 85 scholarship players on every 105 man, D1 FBS roster. I cannot see any team, covid or not, not being able to dress 53 scholarship players for a game. That's 32 scholarship players "out" which I would find hard to believe. I dont really care though. I will not be watching it. Gonna go shoot up some birds this Saturday afternoon, then take the wife to dinner later that night. I'll also say that MIzzou shouldnt be in the SEC to start with anyway. Vanderbilt's second cousin.

I love sports, played high school ball and up till this year very active in the sports forum. I do not idolize sports. Sorry when politics entered sports, I will not support. One day you may learn you have to stand for something or you will kneel for anything.

I fully compreshend. Still can hope the season ends early or games are missed due to the political weapon called COVID.

So I guess both teams will be out after the first game. Soon as a starter tests positive, the contact tracing should kick in right? I mean wouldn't sweating on each other and tackling for 4 quarters constitute contact within 6 ft per their idiotic thinking?

I am not watching any college football this year. The NFL at least is figuring something out to have games played despite the damn politics.

They aren’t playing all season. Season started around the 1st of Sep. So we can hope it gets cut even shorter.

Will they kneel during the anthem? Are they going to have "social justice" messages on their jerseys?
