Had a similar problem a couple of days ago......I have a throw-away gmail account I'd created several months ago for something and was going to resurrect it again. Have no idea what they password is and couldn't even get far enough to reset it. When you click "forgot password" it asks you to enter the last one you remember using...well I don't have a clue so I enter something and it tells me it can't identify me and, basically, I'm SOL. If you figure out a solution, let me know.

Do you still have your iPhone 6? If so use that device to reset your password. Google started requiring a special character not long ago, so don't forget to add the one you can't remember  !@#$%^!

Yes I still have it. I even put the SIM card back in it and it still won’t let retrieve it. Basically what Gomer said
