One of many things I can think of. Notice it was written by a black man, written in a black publication. My point being they have the information, they know the facts. I just got the facts from them. How are these college athletes not treated fairly? How are they being oppressed? According to this article a black athlete is 50 times more likely to get a scholorship than a white athlete. Yes 50 times more likely. The facts are not even close to being what they are passing offas the truth. Yes there is racism in this country but I believe the facts show it is quite the opposite of what we are being told. This is just one thing, there are many others. Its about time somebody stood up for the truth.

The difference between whites and blacks is this: if 37 blacks had read this and it was the other way around, 35 of them would be getting their shoes on getting ready to go to the university with picket signs and get something done about this. 60yrs ago there were zero black athletic scholorships, zero. They jumped up and down about it and got something done about it. 60yrs later 90% of the athletic scholorships go to blacks. 40 white people have looked at this and not even one will even comment on it. Thats the difference between us and them.

Nobody will comment, but they will watch the game, when it comes on. And continue to support them

I’m not surprised at all by the numbers - there is probably a greater emphasis placed on athletics by blacks.

I would also not be surprised to see a greater emphasis on education in places like India, Japan, China, Germany...etc.

Im not trying to start another whos watching the ballgame thread. Just trying to stir some thought. The last 60 yrs has surely changed everything in race relations and racial equality in america. But they are still acting like its 1960. The facts just dont support it. They have more opportunities than white people. There are many special opportunities set aside especially for blacks and other minorities that a white man is not eligible for. Is there anything in this country a white man can have that a black man is simply not eligible for. No, that would be racist. Theres a commercial coming on tv every day that says now is the time for change, as if notning has changed since segregation. Its just nonsense. The facts do not back that up.

Funny thing is they paid somebody for that study when all you have to do is walk around any college campus in the south. That’s not quantum physics he’s explaining for sure.

That article was written in 2015, I bet the numbers are even more skewed now. Here is my answer, if you don't want to go to college on scholarship, you don't have to sign on the dotted line, period. It was YOUR choice to sign and go play football, basketball, etc. They are NOT oppressed, if anything, they are treated like royalty, especially if they are a star player. Also, many of them, turn that college scholarship in to millions of dollars on the pro level, how is that oppression? It is amazing to me how some people, in today's world, can say that any human, in the USA, is oppressed.

It just seems strange to me that they are still hollering for justice and equality in 2020 when the deck is clearly stacked in their favor.

I like how the comments start bashing the universities for the black athletes, even though without the athletics, they apparently wouldn't be stepping foot on a university campus. Their own worst enemy is themselves.

A lot of them went the other way too. Wondering how a free education isn’t an equal swap. The students pick what they want to study and most probably pick something they think is easy to pass instead of something they can make a living at.

When I start worrying about what makes the other upset is the day I stop voting against liberalism. They can take their little pity party and peddle that crap down the road. No takers here we take care of our own. The others can take care of theirs.

Fairness and freedom don’t necessarily go hand in hand.
