I had ordered tickets to an event in Tennessee in October. Of course because of covid it's been cancelled. I just received an email that they have elected to give me a coupon for 120% of the price I paid. I called them up because I wanted my money back, not a damn coupon that I probably won't use by next December. The lady was nice, but told me that the refund timeframe usually is 2-5 days, but because of all the cancellations they are processing it might take up to 120 days! I call BS! Have any of you had this happen? I read a while ago(maybe 3-4 months) about a woman who was having problems getting a refund through them for a cruise or something. It took a lawyer getting involved to get her money back. I guess getting the originating ticket seller to pony up, then giving the "service fees" tacked on by them takes a while huh? Has anybody else run into this scenario?

We had 4 tix to see the Stones in Nashville in May. Bought tix in February through ticketmaster. Had tix to see Gwen Stefanni in Vegas the same week. After holding out for a rescheduled date, we finally decided to get a refund. They refunded us 100% on the card for both shows in about a week.

There might just be so many cancellations that they cant get the refunds done in the normal time like they said. Also theyre doing twice the work for zero money. Probably just trying to stay afloat. Your situation sucks, no doubt, but I would imagine theyre watching their business go down the crapper. Not against you Guru, just trying to see both sides. Maybe youll get it straightened out. Hope its not putting you in a financial hardship.

I'm amazed that a charge can hit my card almost immediately but it takes days to be processed on a refund. Seems the creek only flows one way on that system and if you aren't going downstream the paddling back sure is slower. I recently ran into this when I placed an order with Home Depot on some tile flooring. It hit my card immediately. The next day I get an email from them that they didn't have enough in stock to fill my order so they cancelled it and a credit on my card would show up within a week, which it did but it made me wonder how much interest they can make by waiting several days to refund money when they do this nationwide?

Lord, please help us get our nation straightened out.

Bet it is a sizable amount because they’re not dealing with buckles and dimes. Why do you think banks went to the hundredths then the thousandths of a percent?

They can afford it. They’ve held the money in interest bearing accounts. They can refund all the money and keep all the interest made on millions of dollars of tickets sold.

Once the business generates a refund the funds go to your bank or your credit card company where they hold it for 5-10 days depending on the bank or credit card company.

I was gonna go to the same Stones concert because it was on my birthday. I never bought tickets. Maybe it was an omen.

I firmly believe that a double gallows should be constructed on the East Lawn of The White House. Politicians who willfully and shamelessly violate their oath to uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America should be swiftly tried and, upon conviction, publicly hanged at sunup the day after conviction. If multiple convicts are to be hanged they can choose with whom to share the gallows or names shall be drawn from the hangman's hat to be hanged 2 at a time.

Well you have cash flow and refunds can add up to a negative cash flow quickly. I watched a guy in Lowe’s the other day wanting cash back on a return paid on a card they told him it could take up to 7 to 10 days to show back up on his card. They wouldn’t give him a cash refund since it was paid for with a card.

Mostly correct. The costumers bank actually has the money the next day but they won't release it until they decide to. Usually 5 to 7 days but sometimes less. I've had my company trace refunds and the customers bank will say they don't see it while we are looking at the Feds deposit record. They know they have it but they are used to the customer not knowing how the process works so they usually try to blame the processor.
